Hi

I like spicy food, but I like to be able to tell that I'm eating (for example) chicken. I had some food that was supposed to be in a brown sauce, I ordered hot, as in Mild, Medium, Hot, and Thai Hot. The sauce was bright Maroon, I drank three carafe's of ice water...

I went to a place like that as well. My problem was that most places I go to say it is hot and it never makes me even hiccup much less feel hot. I told the waiter to make sure it was HOT. It was hot alright---about 5,000 on the Scovil scale. lol lol I ate it all though. The chef came out to make sure he didn't kill me. I told him it was fine---just the way I like it. :p

lol Yeah, this is definitely a man's type of place. You couldn't drag me into one of them. I have no desire to be served food by a girl who would rather men look at her "assets" than anything else.

Hi Melissa

If memory serves, you're married, so this won't be of any help. I worked with a girl back in the 1990's who found and married her husband by going to happy hour at Hooter's regularly. She said that SHE had time to talk to the guys and get phone numbers etc, but the waitresses didn't have the time.

Something to think about. :D

I bet I like it spicier than you do. :p
I stop right before "numbness in the tongue and lips." :eeek:
To be honest, I go for taste and heat.
I don't care if it's blistering hot, if there is no taste to the sauce.
My favorites to add to the Mexican cuisine is Tapatio hot sauce, or Cholula hot sauce.
To most other foods, Louisiana hot sauce.
I also have chili hot sauce (oil with hot chilis boiled in it) for Asian cuisine.
And an ice house in the backyard. ;)

Tapatio is good for eggs and hash browns. Tomato juice too. :p

Those are all great choices and I use them too. My standby favorite that I always have in the house is McIlheny brand tabasco sauce. It has the perfect blance of high heat and flavor. I also like Frank's Red Hot.
