The hippirific irony is that indiginous peoples in Chile and Peru who raise and depend on quinoa as a main source of nutrition can no longer afford to eat it because the demand by trend concious hipster appetites has driven the prices so high, effectively driving them out of the market.

It's a grain. You cook it like rice or grits or whatever. Tastes kind of like butter and salt if that's what you put on it.
