Love Blade Runner. Plan to buy on BD soon. Really wanting to buy a full Deckard costume.... got the tie so far, but not the coat, shirt, jacket, gun....

Saw Wrath of the Titans tonight. Massive deviation from the original mythology, but great fun.

First saw it on Laserdisc as a teen. I've seen it a number of times since and still enjoy it. Encore will be playing it to death for the next forever so I am sure I will watch it again real soon.


I was surprised by the Clash of the Titans. I enjoyed it although I expected not to so I am now looking forward to Wrath of the Titans.

Watched "Aces High" last night. The way war was conducted then versus now was very...striking.

Ahh! I love this movie. Brian Donlevy is great and Mary Beth Hughes look a like is stunningly beautiful and slyly evil.

The guy that plays the Irish Detective must be the inspiration for Mel Blanc in the Buggys Bunny cartoon with the hood stuffed in the oven. "Alright Clancy take the boys and surround the house." and the "You might rabbit, you might!"

Impact:

The story had more twists and turns than whirly gig.

"Millionaire industrialist Walter Williams has a young wife, Irene, who is trying to kill him with the help of her young lover, Jim Torrance. The plan falls apart when Williams survives a hit on the head from the would-be killer. Torrance flees the scene in Williams' car but dies in a head on collision. At this point, it is believed that Williams was the driver.
The dazed Williams ends up in a small town in Idaho. He gets a job as a service station mechanic and falls in love with Marsha, the station's owner. Meanwhile, the police arrest Williams' wife for his "murder." Marsha eventually persuades Walter to go back to clear his wife, but he is charged with the murder of the lover. That leaves Marsha and a kindly police detective named Quincy scrambling to prove his innocence."

She was indeed good looking. You would have thought the husband lucky until she tried to have him knocked off.

Great choice! One of my top of the list favorites. I too have watched it more times than I can count. I watched it just this past week and
would probably watch it again if it were on right now.

For me it's pretty much the perfect movie - I just love the chemistry between James Stewart & Grace Kelly (her costumes in the movie...*sigh*....) and there's great support from Thelma Ritter. I can't see how anyone wouldn't like this movie.

Rope - I also enjoy this under-rated gem and have watched it oodles of times. The one thing I noticed (perhaps I'm wrong) but I could swear they are drinking Champagne out of Martini glasses - has anyone else noticed this? I thought it odd if they were as their apartment was very chic and kitted out with everything you could need for a soiree - I would have thought they'd have Champagne saucers or was it the done thing at the time to drink it out of martini glasses (I've never seen this done before)?

Rope was brilliant. Essentially a one-shot film (there's an extra feature where they show you how they "panned" across the room to give the illusion of an actual single shot pan when in fact they edited two shots together).

Last movie watched - Withnail & I, for what is officially my 99th time.

I think I saw that on a kind of documentary on the tv not too long ago - a few months ago I watched it and found myself looking for the "seams" as it were - it's so cleverly done!

Last movie watched - Withnail & I, for what is officially my 99th time.

One of my favorites - it just gets better with repeat viewing. The casting was genius but Richard E. Grant is probably my favourite - he's a superb actor.
