Reminisce magazine is the only one I have a subscription to. I read it now and again and enjoy the old time stories it holds within it's pages. Very interesting storys from those who lived the golden age! Best way to learn about the golden age is to hear the stories and accounts from those who lived it!

I'm not a big magazine subscriber... my top favorites are LIFE from 1938 to 1948 and early Vanity Fair from the 1930's. Also, Saturday Evening Post from the 20's to the late 40's.

But, if you really want to know the truth, I'm here too much reading what's going on to read many magazines. lol and, I find that paper publications also take up a lot of space! I HATE CLUTTER! :rage:

=WR=

PS. I enjoy Highlights too!

I subscribe to the Hoover Digest (a public policy journal) and the Wall Street Journal (online). I get the Denver Post on Sunday for the coupons and TV listings.

I guess to me it is. I always see the cleanness of the interiors as a great jumping point. The scary sparseness that seems to be in most interior advertisements is just anorexic to me.

But a lot of modern design is still framed around design from 1920-50s.
yay

You know, I see where you're coming from. I have seen some things that are influenced by the 20's to the 50's.

Modern design is anorexic! My favorite modern design is early 30's streamline or Art Deco. Clean and simple but not sparse.

Don't subsribe except to professional boring stuff that I have to.

But, ok, Vintage:

Vogue 30's-40s
Trying to get hold of Delineators at a reasonable price.
Various sewing, knitting, and crocheting mags.
Couple of things like Woman's Home.

Modern:
Classic Style - of course
Occasionally buy a period home renovation thing
A Homesteaders mag that I just got and can't remember the name of.
and yes, I do buy Hello!. Ok, take me out behind the stables and shoot me. But I do it, I admit it, and I'm not afraid!

Blast! You guys have done it again. I'm clicking away on line to see what great magazines I'm missing out on, trying not to subscribe. lol

As far as old magazines, I love old McCalls and better Homes and Gardens. And, though it isn't technically a magazine, I LOVE old 30's - 50's Lane Bryant and Roamanns catalogs. When I see one, I try my best to snatch it up.

I see a few of us look at People. Did anyone see the recent issue of celebrity photos from several years ago--the one with Brad Pitt on the cover, sporting a Doris Day hairdo? My coworkers and I laughed out loud at that.
