Size 46 schott 115,brown with black real mouton collar .think it's rapidly heading to the top of my favourite jacket ever.one of the most comfortable, cool looking jackets I've seen/worn .this is never being used on the bike, there's nothing i would change with this jacket.

So how does it go up the shoaps ?
Iffen it's no on the bike is it fur cuttin' aboot ?
I thought the mantra was
"Never broon in toon " ?

No photos as of yet, but last few days been wearing the new donkey jacket I picked up on Saturday from Ben Nevis in Camden. Very nice thing, jacket length, a touch shorter than my peacoat, feels like a casual jacket (what I wanted, the peacoat is great but feels a bit too fancy for kicking about in with denim). Considered the plain model with no shoulder panels (not a fan of the standard shiny vinyl), but instead went for the one with the nubuck shoulders and pocket /cuff trim. Very pleased. Nice and warm out as it gets cooler here in London. I'm good with coats now for the Winter, though I suspect a B3 will arrive with me next Winter.

Interested to see photos once you get the chance. I’ve always liked the Donkey Jacket but find it hard to justify another wool jacket next to the Peacoat (and various dress coats), when I basically grab a leather jacket anytime I am not in suit and tie.

Simmons Bilt does a very nice one with navy blue Merton wool with a brown leather panel.

.........Pics to come like in 6 months when they do my exchange LOL.....

Meanwhile here's the 613 on this cold New York night, watching some 1990s Lenny Kravitz got me in a breaking out the do-rag kinda mood.

I'll have to get a couple at some point. It's a nice thing to have to hand. This is the stock image:

They also do them in navy blue; if I didn't already have a navy peacoat, I might actually have been tempted by the navy one as well, though without the shoulder pads.

It's interesting how in recent years a lot of places have started making an expensive version... Lewis do one. Granted, they put a lot more leather on it (the full back) than the now traditional look, but it's also, well.... Lewis money. I paid a little more for this version (by about £15 or so; I paid £130 for mine) with the nubuck instead of the vinyl (which has kinda been the standard since at least the 60s), but I've never quite understood the idea of spending hundreds on one. Seems to me to kinda lose the point of what they are: a basic, utilitarian, working man's jacket. Ben Nevis have been making these in England (as they still also do with their Harringtons) to this pattern since 1962. Sizing is generous; I'm an **l in just about everything else, but this the XL is a great fit on me.

Here is my Walter Dyer. It’s cold today but this jacket is reasonably warm with layers and stops the wind nicely. Cheers!
