Tried one on in the LA store a couple weeks back. Good thing I purposefully left my wallet at home otherwise I would have left the store with like 4 or 5 jackets. Per70 top notch. Per28 AMAZING. If I see either in my size on Ebay or here used, I will grab without any doubt. Also the 520 is a great cut, more fashion style trucker. And the P620H can stand toe to toe with any of the leather truckers out there.I'm tellin' you people, Schott PER70. I often forget what it means to wear a truly sturdy, tough jacket as it all kinda blends in with time. Always thought that while relatively tough, Schott jackets rarely fall into Vanson/CAL/Branded/whatever weight class but the PER70... If it's not 5oz at places, it's not a single one and we're not talking about that scuffy, waxy or spongy hide. This is belt grade cowhide!
Best part is it's not even insanely heavy! I think it's mostly that chemistry they stuff the leather with that adds to the weight but the PER70 is made in that honest, thick hide, y'know, without plastic finish or tons of oils and waxes... I think that's the best kind there is. Nothing to dry up, nothing to rot, to start flaking, cracking, etc. Won't look as cool I suppose but you can't tell me this isn't a very lovely jacket.

When some professional on a track lays down the Vanson or Bates and saunters in wearing a FL or FW track suit, I’ll put them on the same level when it comes to MCs.
The question then becomes if a LW, Aero, FL, Schott, whatever is good enough to ride in day to day. Puttering around the city or some country road. I’d say yes, most of the time. If the leather is thick and/or abrasion-resistant enough, solid seams, and the hardware worth a sh!t. But no way are they better MC gear than Vanson, Bates, etc.

Upper chest starts to look more naturally creased, lower part still doesnt look naturally draped.
Nice! You got this new right? I don't recall you having a Thedi cossack. Not actually wearing it in this heat, but using it as a purse.
Thedi Shawl-collar while waiting for my second Covid-jab yesterday. Suffering from quite some aftereffects today but really, really happy to have this done!

John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. I have a feeling it is not that other jackets lack strength or will totally shredded upon contact with the tarmac... but I think what make vanson different is their business model deal with post crash jackets changing the panel resurfacing scratches and make it ready again to wear (maybe in motoGP dainese or alpinestar will deal with each rider's suit they crashed in and replace them with a brand new leather ASAP since the brand sponsor them but perhaps a hobbyist or amateur racers need to find gears they can send back in to fix without buying a brand new gear everytime, so I think vanson or bks, etc cater this market for customizable bike gear with maybe life long after sale post crash service), while if you slide with your Shinki, while it would probably safe your skin as fine.. but your jacket won't be serviceable, probably that batch of shinki is no longer available, or the leather ages showing teacore so fast so old and new panel would look jarringly different, etc.
I think there is the difference, and why you should not crash in your tea core jacket, since your jacket will then look like a post crash jacket and nothing can be done to it, especially those oil tanned impossible to fix the scuffed surface no paint would stick on it a re-dye will look patchy.
Gorgeous hide.

I am sure I said that before, but that 5* is such a total win. The heavy goat has character, the design is super nice, and the price is, well, a 5* price. Yeah, one could get a Mulholland for about 8x more, but would you be getting eight times more jacket? Well done.
