I think it’s an expression just meaning that after you see the beauty of Naples (some spots maybe) you can die in peace as you’ve been in the most beautiful place in the world and there isn’t anything else you are missing out.

In this case Naples is your jacket.

Morning fit pics of my newly acquired 1970s Lesco before things heat up. Left the lining in for these shots. I can see this jacket being a nice option for days that are too chilly for my unlined Brooks, Schott or Kehoe CRs.

The two-tone heavy cotton pockets are a nice touch. I assume the little cuff repair isn't something that can't be handled locally.

Anyone know how Lesco achieved this mottled brown/black effect? Why isn't it seen more often in today's jackets?

Very nice!
You should be able to fix the cuff yourself, i have fixed similar things in the past.
Just take a regular sewing needle, heat it red hot and bend it into a hook shape with two pliers.
Dump it into water so it cools fast and stays hard. (if you let it cool slowly it will stay soft and loose its hook shape too easily).
You should then be able to push the needle into one hole and come out the other, looping from one side to the other.
Some needle nose pliers and a knitting thimble will definitely help. In your case you will probably need to do it with two needles on each end of the thread and go up the cuff in a shoe lace criss cross pattern.
It takes time, but isn't hard or technical to do, just go slow.

This video actually shows exactly what i mean, not hard to do:

Although i would start at the last remaining good stitch with a knotted loop (knotting both sides together), and finish at the cuff with a knotted loop too, rather than attach to the original thread like he did.

You can't really damage anything unless you do new holes and everything you do should be reversible, IMO well worth a try!

Chit , I'm "Scottish" and "Australian"...

I do have an Australian made "Bush Tucker Man" leather hat since 1995 , my "daily wearer" if working outside !

HOWEVER I did sell on Gumtree my only Scottish Aero Highwayman last year..Not quite 100% fit and the "weedy" zipper..

Yeah, I did get a little carried away. I keep looking for some to pass on. Was considering moving this one as it sits well above my belt in front when zipped but, this Shinki leather is really nice, and can always wear it unzipped.
