Good news!
Yeah, it was nice to get back into my happy place over the long weekend. It’s been way too long.

First time making ribs with a coffee rub. It won’t be the last.

Etsuko wanted some sweet, sticky ones, too.

I must have a thing for these pre-war black longhair dress hats because I have a bunch. This one is a lovely luxurious felt made for Le BHV (Bazar de l'Hôtel de Ville) founded in 1856 and still in operation today though it just recently entered bankruptcy protection. Here's hopes that it survives and continues...

A French hat made by Mossant.
Mossant Mine C.jpg
It is very lightweight, unlined, and well-suited for the sunny, mild days we’re having in Italy right now.

When it first arrived, the crown had a shape I really didn’t care for; a bit of steam and a week spent on a hat block have set it right—or nearly so.

The color is "Mine"—referring to a pencil lead—which gives it a gray tone.

As always, thank you for your likes and kind comments. I return the sentiment wholeheartedly.
