What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Is my monitor deceiving me, or... this one looks like a pale olive? Or is it a light grey with a slight green undertone? Either way, I love it. I love a wide-ribbon bound brim (not got one of these among my fedoras yet, must rectify....), and the ribbon matching the body colour is a nice touch. I love a silvery-grey hat, but the ones I have in that shade currently all have a black ribbon, which rules the out with earthtones. A nice grey with a warm grey ribbon or maybe a burgundy would work well with brown and earthtones...
Thanks Edward. I believe it is a bit of a warm grey with maybe some greenish undertones.

As far as i know it is an italian manufacturer. But i also think it's beaverfelt.

I'm also not sure by Castorino, but it feels soft and malleable. Stefan once said it could be made by Borsalino. Who knows?
Marcel, you’re well aware of the story I’ve shared many times here on FL: Borsalino never produces a hat without including its own name—it’s practically a mantra by now. It goes without saying that whenever Borsalino makes a beaver-felt hat, they state it quite clearly. This has been the case for the last 40 years or so.
Let me ask you: have you ever seen a Borsalino marked "Castoro" (beaver)? The answer is yes—though very rarely—but in those instances, beaver was only one component of the felt. Borsalino has always been very savvy when it comes to marketing.
"Castorino" rhymes with "Borsalino," but they are two different things.
In Italy, "Castorino" actually refers to nutria (coypu), though nutria-felt hats are extremely rare. Every now and then, Borsalino would label them as such—or sometimes as "lontra" (otter). Barbisio, for its part, used the French term "Rat Gondin."
I’ve just purchased a "Castorino" to see who actually made it; perhaps there’s some information hidden beneath the sweatband.
Take a look.

Best wishes to you in this new adventure. I know you've spent time in the south before, but LA to Nashville might be a culture shock nevertheless. Hopefully we can meet up at some point, I am frequently in the Nashville area. Safe travels.

Hi! I am arriving in NJ, USA, on Nov 5, and returning to Mexico on the 16th. I will be taking as many hats as I can fit in my luggage with me. Pictures of all my hats are on my Instagram, max.tejeda2018
