Here's the second score from yesterday, a little rarer, I think, than the Resistol.

A Stetson Slant, in a beautiful soft blue. Purchased in 1943, from Falk's in Boise, by a woman living in Emmett (about 33 miles north of the capital). Research leads me to believe she likely purchased it for her 19-year-old son, or, less likely, her husband, who I judge would have been around 40. The son, by the way, lived to the age of 99, and just passed earlier this year. That's why I suspect he was the recipient, since it makes the timing right for this have recently made its way to a vintage goods dealer.

Great blue color and I dig the tri-colored hatband!
I had a Portis “The New Slant” once, but a previous owner had already taken out its exaggerated front to rear slant making it a C-crown. I made it a typical diamond crease instead, since I’m not fond of extra droopy rear ends.

I’ve owned some straws with super tight weave, but this old Cavanagh has the tightest I’ve seen.
Got it from a woman in mid Georgia on FB who said she was kin to Stetson Bennett. I told her to let him throw it on his head for a sec so the hat will hold even more sentimental value!

Scored two vintage fedoras yesterday, and wore the first one today.

It's a Resistol Sky Fleet, likely late 40s, judging from the liner tip and the oil skin cover. Lovely shade of grey, in quite good condition. Mine does NOT have the same awesome tri-color ribbon as the one @DaveProc has, but I'm still pleased with it!
