The new trousers that Tina made are still a novelty, what better excuse to wear them than to team them up with a Susquehana bespoke, in a similar grey.
We plan to visit The Purbeck Rally today, https://www.purbeckrally.com/ that's if Tina feels strong enough. Enjoy the weekend.
Very nice, Nathan; SUPER pristine!Me, too. (Not sure if it's OPS though...)

Here's the second score from yesterday, a little rarer, I think, than the Resistol.
A Stetson Slant, in a beautiful soft blue. Purchased in 1943, from Falk's in Boise, by a woman living in Emmett (about 33 miles north of the capital). Research leads me to believe she likely purchased it for her 19-year-old son, or, less likely, her husband, who I judge would have been around 40. The son, by the way, lived to the age of 99, and just passed earlier this year. That's why I suspect he was the recipient, since it makes the timing right for this have recently made its way to a vintage goods dealer.

John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. Wow, that is way cool, Mark!
Thanks, gents. And thanks also, Randall for reminding me I had the ad to post. Just added......Knew there was a Stetson ad for the Slant, but this is first hat I’ve seen. Minty too!
Great blue color and I dig the tri-colored hatband!
I had a Portis “The New Slant” once, but a previous owner had already taken out its exaggerated front to rear slant making it a C-crown. I made it a typical diamond crease instead, since I’m not fond of extra droopy rear ends.![]()
Yet another super find, Mark. The 3 tone ribbon is the icing on the cake. Here's the second score from yesterday, a little rarer, I think, than the Resistol.

Holy moly! It looks like you could tote water in that, without a leak! Nice score, Randall!!I’ve owned some straws with super tight weave, but this old Cavanagh has the tightest I’ve seen.
Got it from a woman in mid Georgia on FB who said she was kin to Stetson Bennett. I told her to let him throw it on his head for a sec so the hat will hold even more sentimental value! View attachment 722229 View attachment 722230 View attachment 722231 View attachment 722232 View attachment 722233
It really is the cherry on the sundae, isn't it, Steve?Yet another super find, Mark. The 3 tone ribbon is the icing on the cake.
VERY nice, Robert!!!
Thank you Joe. Much appreciated.Thank you Robert! Looking very dapper today!

Thank you Mark, you do realise that your Stetson Slant, in a beautiful soft blue., the vintage one purchased in 1943, that would look so cool atop of my head in my 1947 MG, has evoked the sin of covet? And I shall be going to church later on today. Dear oh dear, but that exquisite and most unusual triple coloured hatband is to blame.
Thank you Joe. Much appreciated.
You may have inspired A LOT of custom hat orders today. Here's the second score from yesterday, a little rarer, I think, than the Resistol.

Outstanding!!Scored two vintage fedoras yesterday, and wore the first one today.
It's a Resistol Sky Fleet, likely late 40s, judging from the liner tip and the oil skin cover. Lovely shade of grey, in quite good condition. Mine does NOT have the same awesome tri-color ribbon as the one @DaveProc has, but I'm still pleased with it!
