Interesting piece of history Mark. Thanks for sharing. I've got 2 hats from these guys but did not know the back story.VERY handsome, Timmy. Sidenote: until I saw this post, and that sweatband, I never knew that Roos-Atkins, a department store from my childhood/adolescence, was formed by a 1957 merger, and that one-half of that merger was Roos Brothers!
You flatter me Stefan, such a gracious compliment, thank you. Forgive me for posting the hat twice, you can see it on the "What Shoes?" thread. My optician made something of a remark, I wouldn't go so far as to call it a compliment though. If she asks for a photo you know you're in the clear. Quite rightly so, with that perfect outfit.
Thanks—I think I made the dents a little deeper. It’s like Keith Richard’s talking about guitars—within five minutes he’s got any guitar sounding like all his others. I really have a crease zone that all my hats eventually end up conforming to.Nice! Did you reshape that one?
Looks very good, Marcel!Mossant. I changed the crown of this one to my liking. The crown was very low, so changed it in a center dent, now it looks more higher.

Excellent array of hats there, Nathan! And kudos to your creatively gifted nephew!Once again I have some catching up to do on this thread but once again I have a good excuse!
My nephew is graduating university in May with a degree in music composition and jazz guitar. Very impractical degree but the lad has a great deal of talent and this all he has ever wanted to do so we are glad to support him.
This weekend we drove up to his school in Ohio to attend his senior year composition recital. He chose five of his original pieces to be performed by fellow students (musicians) at his school. It was a very special event and the night before we also had a chance to see his rock band play a gig in Toledo!
He even turned one of my poems into a song and it was VERY special indeed to hear it performed!
This was a magical weekend and I took the Mallory XV and the travel Borsalino up with me as well as the Stetson silk cap. Here are a few photos:

Today I am back to the humdrum in the Stetson 25. At the orthopedist for an old ankle injury.

If your optician didn't have something complimentary to say about ANY of that ensemble, he needs HIS prescription checked! You flatter me Stefan, such a gracious compliment, thank you. Forgive me for posting the hat twice, you can see it on the "What Shoes?" thread. My optician made something of a remark, I wouldn't go so far as to call it a compliment though.

Gamble & Gunn made the hat, it didn't quite upstage the shoes at work
but both were photographed by many. You can read about the shoes on
the what shoes thread.
Thanks MarkLooks very good, Marcel!
