Absolutely exquisite Eric, had I seen this photo previously my own blue fedora may have been styled similarly. A while ago I came across a hat like your's in an advert in some, long forgotten, magazine. Chances are it was probably whilst in the waiting room at my dentist. Remembering the dentist is not something that I make a habit of.

My cordwainer looked over the Stetson Strat, then he checked out the colour of my blazer, and came up with this:

The black hatband was Tina's suggestion, saying that
the blazer's similar black stripes gives the hat a better
appearance. My own choice of hatband was to have
it in silk in a similar blue colour. The black has grown on me.
I have to side with Tina on this one, Robert. The black hatband, against the blue of the felt, is KILLER with that blazer!

Still wearing straw during the day, but pulled out another Barbisio that came to me from Stefan over the summer for a visit to the local Indian place. It felt good on the head. Size is just right. The colour is a bit greener than it shows in the photos. Definitely up there in my top couple of stingy brims. Mid 50s to early 60s by Stefan’s reckoning.

Thanks, Voo.
What’s more, Stefan practically gave me this, along with another couple of Barbisios when I bought another Barbisio off him. I posted the first the other day. This is the second. With the weather cooling down (finally), the third one, and the original purchase that started it all won’t be too far off.

Stefan's pretty awesomely amazing like that; I was also a fairly recent recipient of his largesse. Looking forward to seeing #3!

Thank you for the compliments. That is a beauty you found there. Too bad on the size… even though you still pull it off well.
Thank you, I loved the color but alas, either I invest in ancient Ecuadorian head shrinking techniques or post it for trade.

Thank you Timmy, powder blue is such a versatile colour and it lends itself well to that well crafted Homberg.
Heading out today with one of the cowboy conversions. Used to be a big ol Stetson Gus. Reshaped crown and trimmed some excess acreage off the brim and repurposed a spare Panama band

Good to see you back Rick, or are you still in Houston? Did you go for the Open Road? You have produced a lovely hat from that Gus, the Panama hat band finishes it off a treat.

Thank you Mark, I showed Tina your comment and I got: "See! I told you that the black band was right with your blazer." I'm saying nothing in case she reads my reply.
Love the colour of that Whippet Joe, I told Tina that I might have found just the hat to go with a new pair of trousers that she is making for me. The lady came and had a look, admired your hat and said: "He needs to stand near a razor!" Oh dear.

Weather permitting we are taking the MG to a classic car show tomorrow. Are we dressing up? Well the invitation by text message read: "Don't worry about tickets just look your slendifferous selves." The show is just do-able in that we will be at church in the morning and then go straight on from there. That will have the phone cameras going.

I made it back from Houston last night. Long Drive ( 2-1/2 hrs each way) Long day. I stayed with the black Akubra Bogart yesterday. Did break out a Silverbelly Open Road and a Grey Beaver Brand today to try on a new Paradise Found shirt... Didnt have any darker ones like this so thought Id give the black with brownish Bamboo fronds a try to vary the wardrobe a bit. Silverbelly and Grey both give a nice contrast with it
