My new Trimble Homburg. I’ll be wearing it with the brim turned down. Some rules are meant to be broken. View attachment 388329 View attachment 388330 View attachment 388331 View attachment 388332

Controversial choice, Shadow :)
If you can snap it down and it stays down, then something suggests to me that it's not a "true" Homburg. Sounds more like a "snap brim" Homburg. These were popular in the 1930s.

I found a Battersby one a couple of years back. You can search "snap brim" on the Homburg Nation thread.

Borsalino Colombo - Mogano

Even though there was no cool air…. This fuzzy old friend helped me get in enough holiday spirit to hang some Christmas lights today.

A short brimmed tyrolean style with super dense velour like felt in a rich dark chocolate color. This was my very first Borsalino

Man you really look sharp in that hat! The Stetson Royal De Luxe Stratoliner is just such a special model of the Stratoliner legacy. The ribbon treatment adds a bit of mystery and attractive difference. Sharp!

Back at you Brent, thanks for being a positive force on The Fedora Lounge over the years. Cheers to you sir.

Best to all, Eric -
Yes, he has!

I confess that the cold this morning is remarkable and the sun you see is the very first of the day.
The fog has been licking the southern part of the city for days without reaching the hills.

The hat has been a puzzle since it came to my collection.

The seller told me they belonged to an aunt of hers who had a shop closed immediately after the war, she didn't know anything else.

It is an Albertini - Argo made in Intra which on 4 April 1939 was united with the municipality of Pallanza under the name of Verbania
Albertini interno.jpg

Albertini was one of the first "modern" Italian hat makers, founded in 1817 on Lake Maggiore in an area that later gave life to hats made on the lake (Panizza, Albertini and other minor ones)

The color of the felt is "Nocciola - Nutty" as is the ribbon.
Very beautiful, simple and with a workmanship that is typical of the Thirties, I still wonder what age it has

Happy Saturday everyone and thanks for the appreciation that is reciprocated.
