View attachment 353273 40s/early 50s Stetson Strat refurb.
A complete reconstruction to include sewing the unreeded sweatband directly back to the felt like it had been. Lotsa work, but worth it.

That crease on your Strat inspired me to pop open the crown on my Royale De Luxe Stetson and reset to a shallow center dent with some medium/large soft pinches

A week and a half of hats. Haven't been posting as much (work does get in the way it seems).

Who knew?

At low tide, fishers use the fruit to stupefy fish

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corypha_umbraculifera

Or is it from Chinese rice stalks?

I knew a Samoan transplant to Niue Island that used a root from a certain plant to paralyze fish caught in low tide pools. We were afraid to eat his fish, not knowing what the poison was and if it would cause us grief and maladies. The guy in question wasn't really all there, so we had our doubts about his "fishing" technique. o_O

Such attention to detail, I'm impressed. All I do is take the hat out of it's box, put it on my head, check my reflection and that's me, done.
The hat, I like. The size of the turned up trouser cuffs, I LOVE!
