Saw another one recently in a Royal — and it was the first I remember seeing like this (not that my memory is any good at this point).

Good get Timmy!

I remember that one because I thought the lining was super cool.

@TimmyV tell me about that ventilated looking lining! Is it actually perforated or is it just decoration? Does it seem like it'd wear cooler? I feel like I've seen a couple of these (in addition to the one Bob posted) floating around but they don't seem to be that common.

Restistol Resto by @HatsBySam - I like how Sam saves the interesting elements of the original sweatband when a replacement is necessary. I put a little mule kick in the front, and I want to do something with the brim now that I've sat with it for a bit, but I haven't been willing to mess with it yet. Any suggestions let me know. : )

This the most "cowboy" of all my hats at this moment. I love it. Beautiful color.

Apparently I haven’t graduated to this brim size yet - I walked this hat into two different door frames today and had to clean a white streak off my dang brim ribbon. Lol

It is perforated however the hat itself is not. So I gotta think it's strictly decorative. YMMV

Several things about this 'un got my attention. OPS Era Royal DeLuxe. The slightly longer nap of the felt, the use of a pug rather than a grossgrain ribbon hatband and last but not least was the liner ! Until this one came along I had never seen a Stetson with this liner. Best of all, it was my size !!

Tina & I are off to see our legal eagle today, we are on the move.
Our house is sold, we are currently living in a rented cottage, most
of our home is in storage.
Today we sign contracts on a rather attractive, albeit much
smaller, cottage. The bespoke Susquehana is my choice
for the occasion.

Guys, I'm sorry - I know this is boring since I've already been squawking about this hat, but this is the one I wanted to wear, so here we are. This may be my only fedora that curves down in the back instead of the usual curl up, and that is one of the reasons it's so fun to wear. I love the color and crown, which gives the impression of being tall or big, even though it's only 5" at the highest point. It just has a cool vibe.

Next week I will come up with a new theme as I cycle through and reorganize all the hats in my collection but for today...

I find myself reaching for this Disney hat more and more. Love the straight sided tall crown, the 2” ribbon, the 2 3/8 brim, and it’s a heavier, thicker felt than a lot of my other hats from the similar era. And it’s got some signs of wear, so I don’t feel like I have to baby it, lol

A rather unusual boater hat made from toquilla palm. Though Montecristi hats generally feel heavy to me, in this form it is much lighter than a traditional thick woven straw boater. Alas, not very rugged - it suffered damage from careless handling (mine) some years back. Not a hat I wear but one that I keep and enjoy as the only Ecuadorian on my boater shelf. More of a "what hat did I pull out to photograph today"... please excuse if a bit off topic.

Why don’t you prefer toquilla Panamas if I may ask?

I love them and admire them. But I find a beautiful, tightly woven Montecristi to feel heavy on my head. Its beautiful dense weave is also not conducive to air movement which affects wearing comfort.

They are certainly the king of summer straw and a perfect look on a comfortable day with a beautiful linen suit... just not my first choice to wear on a hot and steamy day.

We are leaving for The Hat Festival shortly, (when the lady has finally "put her face on.")
Click on the link to last year's festival. https://www.m35photography.co.uk/bridport-hat-festival-2025/ Then click on: 'photographic portfolio' to see some of last year's headwear.

The Susquehana gets another outing. It's a colour that just compliments any attire.
It will be going up against some very good hats in the best hat competition. I shall report back tomorrow. Enjoy your weekend, everyone.
