Love that midnight blue. Great shape and that upscale retro ribbon treatment is the kicker! Reminds me of my Dunderry
Thanks Brent.. a bit of an unknown (hat) brand. But a very well known name in the American fur trade during the 1800s entrenching Astor (Astoria) as one of the most wealthy families in history.That’s. Lot-a hat and a lot to like. Nice, Joe!
Much appreciated SteveJoe, Thank you! I think I will continue with Stiff Felts and then shift to Curled Brim Soft Felts.
Fantastic Astor - Hats of Distinction from you today! You guys are keeping this thread going!
Speechless....C.a.K. (Císaři a Králové) Dvorní Továrna Na Klobouky / Kaisers and Kings Court Hat Factory , J. Hückel'a Synove Vídeň / J. Hückel's Son Vienna, Alois Pinkova Hradec Králové (due east of Prague and was Austria Hungary at the time) possibly early 1900s. This Stiff Felt has a wide Brim with a very tight Curl. The Liner and JHS Crest are striking. Also a great looking textured Sweatband, I found this Stiff Felt back in 2014.
I never care about this silly rules...Wow, those lapels are wide! It looks great with the cut and the fabric is great! Love the pop of color. Do you follow the “rule” and match the width of your tie to the width of your lapels?
Gorgeous. A whole lot of crown on that hat!Astor - Hats of Distinction For thin ribbon Thursday

A very Stratty morning indeed. It was a TAR (green thin *** ribbon) morning.
A minty sage Stetson Stratoliner was my walkabout choice.
A peacock green Stetson Stratoliner was my coffee hat.
An older sage Stetson Stratoliner was my trimming hat.
Happy TAR to all!
Cheers, Eric -
Thanks Stefan…. I’m not quite sure why I’ve had it hiding out... definitely needs to get out and about more.Gorgeous. A whole lot of crown on that hat!
Dig the Reddy Kilowatt pin! Have a similiar tie clasp, one of my favorites. The beater Adam Executive Quality Pacesetter, normally my go-to concert hat, gets the wear fot the morning doggie stroll.

A truly wonderful early 1900s Bowler, Steve. The lettering on the sweatband is certainly art nouveau, which befits the period.P. & C. Habig Wien "Grand Prix Paris" possibly around 1900. There was a newspaper from 1903 behind the Sweatband so my guess is this model was made around the time of 1900 Paris Grand Prix. I was very lucky to find this Stiff Felt back in 2021.
The Band and Bow blocked by the Brim Flange.
Similar Stiff Felt Forms, Also P. & C. Habig Wien Crest with "Patent Ventilator" from a P. & C. Habig Wien - Berlin Catalog, possibly 1890s.
