And now I am wearing my new Churchill Beaver "100" made with Vicuña. It might be misremembering, but the felt in this one is even better than the one in my white. It is just as obedient, but it feels smoother and velvety to the touch. I don't remember that feeling in any of my other hats. Both came with identical leather cases. Some great hats from you today, Max. Looking forward to seeing all 80 at some point.

The Churchills are a class act with those leather cases.

My vintage Pilgrim porkpie from either the late 1950’s or early 1960’s.

Well, after Max showed off his big guns, it's my turn with the smaller guns :(;)
Let's see what this week had in store (I need to a change of hats soon).

Making the most of a day off I was up as the sun rose. The Dobbs with a special ribbon treatment got the early head time.

I enjoyed some grilled sausages, potates and asparagus breakfast under the brim of a Stetson Flagship. Love the combo of fawn hued felt with the Petersham ribbon treatment.

Sunday wouldn't be Sunday without the omnibus edition of the Archers and Stefan's week in hats. Some very nice shirts and ties too!

Love the Knox. Do I detect a Fleur ribbon and bow on it, Stefan?
Thank you, Steve. Your detection skills are on point; you could go for truffles with skills like that!

Finally, straw weather. Mühlbauer for a stroll down to the harbour.

Enjoying the sunshine in one of mr Mühlbauer's creations: nothing wrong with that!

More straw. Very nice, Charlie and good to see you.

A festival in Wakayama today. Let’s hope it wasn’t a super-spreader festival.
Etsuko wore the same Borsalino as last week.

Thank you very much, Robert. It is indeed part of a suit. I think you'd like it; double breasted, cuffed trousers.
old photos 041.JPG
Do I like double breasted with trousers that have cuffs? Is the Pope a catholic? But in this photo the trousers should have been worn a little higher to prevent the wrinkling around the ankles. You might just see that the cuffs are turned up. And just for Max, the outfit is topped off with a Stetson Sovereign.

That's the way to do it, Robert. We'll turn a blind eye to the wrinkles and applaud you for wearing both a wonderful hat and carrying an umbrella. Excellence!

Fleur's signature bows are easier to sniff out than truffles, but I wouldn't mind the latter skill too :)

So good to see your recovery progressing Bill. That Lowey Leghorn looks familiar, I'm sure I have seen that, or something like it.

Tina had a look and reminded me of her vintage pattern catalogue.
That looks like a croquet mallet that the fellow on the right is holding.
How's your croquet Bill?

Flatterer, but don't stop, Tina reckons that such compliments will increase my hat size. Whatever does she mean?
