What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

At 2 1/4", not a very wide brim; however, the proportions on this one seem to fit well. I'm not certain of the age of this Knapp-Felt, but this near-pristine hat may be one of my oldest.

Yesterday evening my escapades had me wearing a Knox Vagabond.

I have shared many pics as the felt and insides are just soooo clean and well done. The ribbon is simple and neat. Well done Knox.

Morning dog soirre was taken wearing an over-welted Brock fedora.

The overwelt is tidy and evenly sewn around the hat brim. Clean.

The clean de-bossed Brock logo, definitely intact on this pristine hat, is a classy touch.

The lightweight felt is a very pale blue color. The Canadian manufacturer of this 30's hat did an excellent job in felt prep and trimming choices. While the ribbon thickness is thin, it in no way reflects poorly on the hat. The unlined nature of the hat implies it is meant as a warmer weather hat. The lighter weight sweat, certainly not super durable is comfy and works well in this non-reeded situation.

We're enjoying late summer weather in September here in Denmark with temperatures at 20°+. Far too warm to be wearing a stiff felt, but I just couldn't resist wearing this recent arrival, a 1930s Hückel Bowler.

The bright sunshine brought out its almost NOS condition much better than any other lighting would, so glad I wore this one today even though it wasn't for very long.

Good morning hat folks. Dog soirée in an inky blue homburg.

Off to butcher (next door to a bakery and he opens at 7:00am) and a car wash (my wife's auto) while wearing a Stetson Bantam.

Back from errand and sipping the first morning coffee. Ahhhh. The steam rising from the coffee fogged my camera this morning. Duuuh. Early mornings at this time of the year really present challenges for hat pics.

Bowen, I have 5 of them now and am really enjoying them. I think that the felt on all , including the modern one, is far superior to any modern Stetson , Akubra or Optimo that I own, and the vintage ones are pretty comparable to some of my higher end vintage hats. Because I am outside working or on on the tractor most of my time out of the office, I tend to spend most of the time wearing beaters, and the Qulita Extra Superiore is the most luxurious beater I own. All and all I am very much enjoying the Borsalinos, and will prbably pick up more, if the right deal comes along.

So I hadn’t been on the WHAYWT page for almost a week and notifications had stopped coming. I figured things were just quiet here. How wrong I was! It’s taken a fair while to catch up, but had a lot of fun doing it. Amongst all the magnificent hats, ones that stood out for me: The sheer volume and quality shown by @Short Balding Guy always leaves me stunned, The Mallory from @Randall Renshaw, that jury hat from @TheOldFashioned - wow! And the Bailey conversion from @T Jones - I covet that hat! Then today, the Borsalino Milan from @hatsRme and Black Cherry VS from @Rumad. There were others just as good, but those ones particularly appealed to my tastes. They make me embarrassed about my inevitable repeat post of whatever hat I decide upon today!

It is never a contest just a validation of what we wear. IMO. Repeat away as I totally enjoy your posts. your hats, your wife's hats and the cultural differences of Japan and Minnesota (my neighborhood) I encourage you never to feel embarrassed. Please do not reflect a personal value in comparison to others, especially myself. I have frequent gaps were I just am not able to participate and post on the forum. I too have days were 1 cap or hat is all I have opportunity to wear. This has been frequent the past 2 pandemic years. (My posting not always normal - I agree. I admit I am not normal (life and actions) and my frenetic days certainly are not normal. It is normal for the folks I hang with, but we are self aware that we are indeed not normal. I walk the streets of my neighborhoods knowing that I will stand apart from the norm. This said hat/cap fans in general are not necessarily crowd following folks. I imagine that we have all found a comfortable space that we inhabit. Included is my age and reflection that mostly I do for me and care little about others opinion if what I wear is ok.)
