Still wearing the tarp hat in the garden. I really ought to start reaching for one of the others I bought recently, but reaching for that hat is as automatic as a smoker reaching for a cigarette.

My Henley got its first proper outing today though, when I went to fetch my meds. Very happy with this hat.

Nice and light, but stays onboard in a breeze, and keeps the sun out of the peep holes without being "too much" brim for out and about.

Inspired by a recent post of the Akubra Country Club from Brent @deadlyhandsome, I decided to look into Akubra’s range of polypropylene hats. I figured they would be ideal for the rainy season.
I ended up going with the Capricorn in grey.
It arrived yesterday and I’m taking it out for its first run today. View attachment 340953 View attachment 340952
Etsuko went with her Borsalino.

Looks good, Gary. I have a Capricorn too, but I like the color of yours better.

Looking forward to seeing how you make out shaping your two open crown Akubras.

Very nice, Gary. I like the pug on it. You may have already guessed it, but Etsuko wins.

Thanks, Brent. I saw your Capricorn the other day. I like both colours but I particularly like the pug on this one. Also, all of my other summer hats are a natural straw colour (except for the white Panama) so I thought it would be good to change it up a bit.

Great lineup this week. Good to see the straws making an appearance. Lovely pug on the penumbra. The Heinrich is feisty in making its case among some stiff competition

I got home yesterday afternoon in time to enjoy the wanning afternoon. A Champ straw fedora was a perfect summer hat choice.

The cool temps (60'f) of our Sunday morning find me in an unlined Stetson Playboy.

Coffee on the deck in a Stetson Open Road is what a summer early morning is all about.

A quick early morning jaunt to pick up a newspaper. I had the urge this morning to read a real paper newspaper. No "electronic newspaper" this morning for me. I was sport'n a vintage Stetson panama for the brief shopping adventure.

This panama hat has a mesh liner with a wide luxurious sweats.

It is a dandy of a straw hat. Not to mention the liner logo is just so unique. Fun to take off and gaze at.

Cheers to all on this Sunday morning, Eric -
