Jim @Frunobulax gave me this info on another post....

>>>>From ads we've seen, the Hanover Square's run seems to be from ~1951-1960. At least nobody has been able to dig up an ad for one post-'60. Here is an ad from a 1951 Esquire for the Hanover Square. Note the price points are $10 and $12.50. Your price point would suggest somewhere in that time frame, IMHO.<<<

Thanks for sharing Jim’s info, Joe.
I like the hat, but I like the adjacent pin up gal, too. Need info on how to meet a gal like that from this decade.
:)

Could no longer resist taking this magnificent 50s Borsalino to the next level by becoming more fedora-ish and less homburg-ish.
Without hesitation, or reserve, I can pick a most favorite hat.
For reference, the last photo is how it used to look. Some may like it better. I did, for a while.

Ps,
I suppose I should add that this was not a conversion. Only change made to the hat was when I fixed the rust stained ribbon...and now the brim’s shape.

Is it the single sided velour he used to have or something different. Of all the rabbit fur felt I have from him the single sided velour was the only disappointment, which is odd since Tonak is famous for its velours.
I was actually thinking about getting the same navy blue velour as yours, only with a different color ribbon. I might just stick with getting one with antelope felt like the Lounger hat.

I’m having @belfastboy make me a hat using one of the Agnoulita sourced dark olive antelope finished felts. The antelope finish is my favorite aside from his 100% hare. I’ll look forward to seeing your next hat.
