HaThanks, B. I’d buy another one too. Not sure the shades qualify for that club though. Good to see you around.
I would love to know more about the straw. It looks like it was had braided, then coxed into a sort of Milan shape.Amish straw in the yard this afternoon.

Have a good evening,

Nice color composition in that photo Doc. The brim binding, the polo, the tile etcetera. Your hats are the best.
Stetson Derringer
Brent — Do the offset vents create a sort of vortex cooling effect? My Derringer is the same way. Me thinks the blocking department wasn’t on their game on Derringer day.
Stetson 3X.

Spent all this time getting the downed trees out of the yard only to bring a couple of them back (walnut and cherry). Was expecting to hand load (and stick) them on the trailer, but when we got there this strapped bundle was hanging off their loader. They expertly placed them on my rickety old trailer (I think I actually heard it moan) and I white knuckled this top-heavy load back home over 40 miles of hills and twists (and five miles of off-camber dirt road). Nobody died...
I can't really tell you anything about the hat, except that it is the shape worn by the Amish around here. There is no maker name in it. It's made of what appears to be wheat straw in a 5/8" wide braid. I'll get a picture of the full width braid that is sewn on as a sort of bottom welt tomorrow.I would love to know more about the straw. It looks like it was had braided, then coxed into a sort of Milan shape.
Thanks, Jonesy. Alan's are the best, but thanks anyway.Nice color composition in that photo Doc. The brim binding, the polo, the tile etcetera. Your hats are the best.
Damn bro, condolences, I’m so sorry to hear that. Keep your head up. You have moms eyes that’s for sure.Hey guys... been off From here for a bit. We unexpectedly lost our mother on Wednesday due to COVID-19. My head is definitely spinning quite a bit. I’ll probably be away a bit longer... but I do imagine I will be back sooner than later as this is kind of been a bit of therapy for me these past months... and will likely I will be in need of that outlet soon. That and there are so many great beautiful hats to get to. In the mean time here are a few photos of me and my mom in better times.

Hey all!
It was a beautiful day here in Northern California. A day made for straw, so I busted out this old colonial blocked Adam Royal Quality Panama that I suspect is from the late 30's to early 40's.

The brim, which was treated with coconut oil for dryness a couple years ago is still nice and pliable, and snaps down without a hint of a creak or groan. Unlike me when I watch the Giants.
Have a great day!

Check out the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth, TX. It is amazing! I’d love to have thHi all, yesterday I wore my Peters Bros. namesake hat #2, that I sweet-talked Anthony out of during The Great Purge. I forgot to take a pic, but just to jog your memory...

But that's not why I'm posting. I spent the day with my wife traversing the 127 Sale "The World's Longest Garage Sale," which is staged every August and vendors set up shop along US 127 from Michigan to, I think, Alabama. We made it from Hamilton, OH, to Greenville yesterday. My wife found a few nice things, but nada for me - no hats. However, on one of our last stops near Greenville, I spotted a collection @Blare may be interested in:

Waddya say, Joe? They're only about a half-hour north of me. I can go back and pick them up for you.
Check out the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth, TX. It’s one of the greatest repository of Western art in the word. Maybe the greatest, even. I would love to have that hat!Hi all, yesterday I wore my Peters Bros. namesake hat #2, that I sweet-talked Anthony out of during The Great Purge.
