Blare, looking sharp sir. Your hat adventure collages are very entertaining. My wife was looking over my shoulder as I was viewing this thread and your pics and Steve's caught her eye as interesting. My wife's stamp of approval!

This week I will feature various shades of Grey German and Austrian Velours. Most will be from the 1930s.

C. G. Wilke "Bürstel Electra", Open Crown 6 inches, Brim 2 1/4 inches probably mid to later 1930s. I showed this hat last week in my C. G. Wilke Guben (Germany) series but it's a great example so here it is again.

Steve, the 30's German hats really catch my eye. The proportions are the "bees knees."

Alley Kat Hat Co Beaver Black Cherry, Guatemalan beaded hat band, and a Malaysian batik face mask today on the Masked Corona Crawl. Lots of sun, no wind, and gentle waves brought out a few parents with small kids, with several older kids on boogie boards on the first legal day to hang out on the beach since March. The serious surfers were most likely elsewhere seeking more action. Not hard to social distance on the beach, but I didn't hang out. Just swam for a while, did some body surfing, then back up the hill. Ooops shoulda worn a straw today of all days.

Dark moss is a fav felt! Could not be a better choice for the important everyday family tasks.

M.W.B. Stolzf. Luxury Velour, 2 3/8 inch brim, 5 1/2 inch open crown, possibly early 1930s. Fantastic Stone Gray Upright Open Velour of high density and maximum gloss. This hat was made for Leineweber, Berlin C Köllnischer Fischmarkt men's clothing store.

My wife stopped and looked over my shoulder as I was reading your post. She said you had a "spectacular post that was full of interesting information." Later she said I should look into getting a hat like yours. I am proud to say that I love my wife tastes, as well as much more.

Day 16 of 31 Hat Parade: Let's talk Beater/Work hats. Today was off and on rain, gray but mild. I spent a couple of hours revamping a flower bed in the hopes that people might see it at our ACT 4th of July BBQ. This late 1950 Stephen L. Stetson fedora is a fine example. I wear this one while working on sets at the theater, it can take it. This brand of hat is very interesting, Stephen Stetson was a shirt tail relative (as the story goes) of the famous hat maker John Stetson. Most people have heard of that brand. A lawsuit in the 1930s against Stephen was solved by him putting "Never Connected in Any Way" in the company logo.

Well many thanks to you and your wife. I certainly feel you have been an influence on how I have been enjoying Collecting wearing and sharing hats. And I am glad someone other than me are enjoying them.

Day 17 of 31 Hat Parade: Sunday go to meeting hat! Problem is, we are not going anywhere. A quick walk and then a nap. I choose to feature one of my early Homburgs. After collecting two black ones, I felt the need to expand my Homburg color options. This Mallory Ten came from a friend on the Fedora Lounge. It has had a new sweat band installed, but the original "legacy" sweat is in it's box. This hat is mid-1950s. Archive images, I went for a walk in my sweat pants (nobody needs to see that...).

Thanks Eric, I am feeling pretty good, the cough was just hanging in quite a while, so I had a tele-health session with my doc who is checking on some possible minor causes, and wanted to rule out cover-19. I am very grateful for many things.

First outing for the vintage Knox Panama. I think the colors on this are awesome. Originally it had a puggaree treatment and no side creases. Mike Miller (Northwest Hats) installed this ribbon I supplied and added the creases. The brim is only 2 3/8" which is a bit narrow for me. But, the color demanded that it be in my collection.

This is the original puggaree treatment. I kept it to use on other straw hats. Also, no front/side creases on the crown.

Yes the shoes are blue. The color is called indigo. My wife doesn't like it but I go a bit wild with my socks. She dislikes it when I'm going to be speaking so am sitting up on the dais and everybody can see my socks. These are todays.

That’s how a homburg is supposed to look. I like the wider brim, and the colors really work well together.

Sounds like a glorious Sunday sir. Thanks for sharing. I am home after a walkabout and have opened a guita case to play some Hurt Richland Woman blues and some Broonzy's Big Leg blues. Not sure what the next songs will be. Enjoy.

Mississippi John Hurt and Big Bill Broonzy were two of the three I had on! The other was Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee. As a side note, I saw Brownie McGhee live in NZ when he was 78 years old - magnificent!
