That is a beautiful hat! Nice find.J Lord. Was looking for a vintage Whippet style hat and saw this on Goodwill. $10 plus $9.50 shipping So about $20.00
Needs a cleaning and has some very tiny moth bites, just a few and you have to look hard to see them. What the hell, I bought it. I read J Lord was a custom hatter. After cleaning I think I'm holding a nice lid. Wearing it to the grocer just to see how I like it.
Hats this close to food always make me feel uneasy. Both hat and food look excellent though, Eric.My hat and finished lunch and back to work we go. Char Sui Ramen was excellent!
As @Redfokker would say: black hats matter. Fabulous, Bowen. Anyone heard from him recently btw?View attachment 218307 View attachment 218308 View attachment 218309 View attachment 218310 Greetings All:
Today....i love lightweight, unreeded, unlined vintage hats. Bantams, Strats, etc. pretty much any in this category.
So, the Knox Vagabond fits the bill with what i call “whisper felt”. You just whisper a crease into it. Lovely!!
The bummer on this one is i enjoy it so much it keeps losing stitches on the sweatband. I’ll need to remedy this shortly.
Be well. Bowen
Great hat, Steve. I love those simple but highly detailed liners.Brüder Böhm "Velour" possibly 1930s.
Brüder Böhm, Hat Liner Dye Stamp possibly 1930s and from my September 2015 Czech find.
Stefan, Thank you! Great looking Dobbs from you. Really like the color combination.Great hat, Steve. I love those simple but highly detailed liners.
Great hat, Greg. If only we could them for that today!
Great looking Dobbs, Stefan. I like those colors.Yesterday's Dobbs

Confession: I’m in love with your Vogue, Eric, AND I’M NOT ASHAMED!!!Out this afternoon in a vintage 1947 Stetson Vogue.
While "Right For Dress-Up" the hat works with my more country attire.
Best, Eric -
Don’t remember seeing you so unmatchy with your hat. But today you have proven that it just don’t matter!Yesterday's Dobbs

Instead of heart, I’d rather eat some of that homemade smoked sausage, Michael. My brother makes smoked country sausage using homemade hogs and goat intestine for casing. Got some in the fridge and now, thanks to your post, know what I’ll be eating for lunch!Great looking Dobbs, Stefan. I like those colors.
I had to go with Dobbs today. Hanover Square

I haven't decided if it's smoke kielbasa next or fresh hot Italian.

Resistol conversion with new 5/8" ribbon by local place, Shorty's Caboy Hattery. This is the one that was squished badly by Fed Ex. Had brim trimmed earlier by Schafer Hat works. Below is condition it arrived in.

Thanks Hector. If that made you hungry it's probably a good thing I didn't put up photos of the big pastrami on rye sandwich I made for lunch, with the pastrami I smoked last week. And the big chunk of smoked cheddar on the side that I did the week before. Ha ha.

I don’t know if I could pull it off, but you look absolutely FANTASTIC! I might have to give this a try.
