Very nice find PaulJ Lord. Was looking for a vintage Whippet style hat and saw this on Goodwill. $10 plus $9.50 shipping So about $20.00
Needs a cleaning and has some very tiny moth bites, just a few and you have to look hard to see them. What the hell, I bought it. I read J Lord was a custom hatter. After cleaning I think I'm holding a nice lid. Wearing it to the grocer just to see how I like it.
Properly brushed too I would say, it looks brand new! Gorgeous hat Eric. Have a great day.Out this afternoon in a vintage 1947 Stetson Vogue.
While "Right For Dress-Up" the hat works with my more country attire.
Best, Eric -
Thanks Hector. If that made you hungry it's probably a good thing I didn't put up photos of the big pastrami on rye sandwich I made for lunch, with the pastrami I smoked last week. And the big chunk of smoked cheddar on the side that I did the week before. Ha ha.Very nice! Plus, now I'm hungry, lol....

Cool hat Bo, I love Knox hats. AWESOME jacket.View attachment 218307 View attachment 218308 View attachment 218309 View attachment 218310 Greetings All:
Today....i love lightweight, unreeded, unlined vintage hats. Bantams, Strats, etc. pretty much any in this category.
So, the Knox Vagabond fits the bill with what i call “whisper felt”. You just whisper a crease into it. Lovely!!
The bummer on this one is i enjoy it so much it keeps losing stitches on the sweatband. I’ll need to remedy this shortly.
Be well. Bowen
So this thrift store straw that had no hat band got me to mess around with an idea I wanted to try out for a simple down and dirty removable ribbon. I tried this gills style out with just cheap ribbon from Walmart and hot glue. Made the fastener with Velcro. So they could be quickly changed out kind pug style. Can definitely get more involved with stitching and all. But I wanted this to be a quick attempt to see what I could come up with cheap and easy. I started with a basic bow version... I still need to finish. Thanks Hector. The idea definitely needs some work. But it would be very cool to be able to swap out looks easily.Nice work. I really like the velcro idea.
Very nice Steve.Brüder Böhm "Velour" possibly 1930s.
Brüder Böhm, Hat Liner Dye Stamp possibly 1930s and from my September 2015 Czech find.

Joe, Thank you!Very nice Steve.
Thank you Randy.Very neat idea!!!
Thanks, Randy. I'm glad Garrett let that one go.The copper really pops on that one, Randall.
Wow, the stitching does stand out on the Portis, Stefan, very nice detail.
Very nice, Randy. Great find! I'm still looking for that elusive vintage panama. After a really crappy, cold, and rainy day yesterday, we have clear skys, light winds and 83 F here in central Texas. I get spring fever earlier every year. While I want to keep wearing my fur felts for as long as I can, I had to take the opportunity to dig out my newest old Mallory panama. Someone, perhaps Fruno, said a few months back that the tombstone/headstone logo places this one in the early 30"s?
Have a great and wonderful day everyone.

Great hat, Greg. If only we could them for that today! There’s a small white price tag on the back of this hats sweat that shows a lot of hat could be bought for $4.93 at one time.

Thanks, Michael. It really is blue. Have a look here:Thanks Randall. The Dallas got a long day of wear.
Thanks Stefan. My coat collection hasn't been getting it's share of wear this winter. I guess I haven't been getting out much.
Lovely set of hats. Is the Janyska really blue? Looks great, but then they all look great.
50 mph wind today said I didn't want to wear a hat. Or more likely chase a hat. Stormy Kromer got some time going to the store and working in the yard.
