Filling bird feeders and cleaning up a few weeds this chilly damp morning A vintage Pilgrim and my original 60's - 70's era Air Force OG-107 field jacket kept me comfy and dry. Jacket still looks and fits great after 50+ years.

Beautiful Pilgrim! Love the colors and the blue logo on the sweat.
And the one owner field jacket is a great match.

Part two of this two hat day...

Wide World of Wrestling Champ7 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

So this part could use some explaining...

Back in the 1990’s I wrestled professionally as ‘The Legacy’ Blare Rogers. Grandson of Nature Boy Buddy Rogers... Buddy was the very first WWE champion (then WWWF) in the early 60’s. One company I worked for in Florida and around the Caribbean was Wide World of Wrestling (now Champ7). They called me a few weeks back and let me know they wanted to induct me into the 2020 class of their Hall of Fame. What an honor it was to be inducted into a group of talent I consider serious legends in that business. It was very cool to be remembered for work we did a quarter century ago already. AND it was definitely an occasion to break out the Lord Kent Beaver 15 Homburg. What a very cool night it was!

And this was me back when I worked for Wide World of Wrestling holding their Bahamas championship for a year or so.

Man, Super Cool Joe !!! That must have been a special time.

I grew up watching the Von Erichs back in the day since they were local boys.....

You picked a good hat for it too.

Awesome looking Pilgrim, Ken. Great color combo in the felt and binding/ribbons.

Awesome look Michael....very Germanic. Love it.
Thanks Ken. The Harris Tweed might fit in in Scotland, too.

Thanks,
Michael

Man, that has to be one of the nicest Pilgrim's I've seen. Love the blue on the liner.
Great Jacket too, one to treasure !

Well, that is very cool. I must admit I'm unfamiliar with your circuit or the contemporaries who entered the HoF with you. I think my hey-day was a bit before you were wrestling. Wrasslin' lost some of it's mojo when the independent circuits were consolidated under the now-WWE, IMHO.

Getting into any HoF is a feather in your fedora. Congratulations!
Thanks Jim. It was a small company I worked for based out of Jacksonville. Mostly independent guys work there.. though we definitely had a lot of big names work their way through. Sounds like your hey day was in between mine (if I had one LOL) and Buddy Rogers.. he was the top guy wherever he went for most of the 50’s and 60’s. Now I keep his tribute site up at buddyrogers.net and on social media. Just my way of giving back and keeping his legend alive.

Thanks again.. you are right. A very cool feather in my fedora.. or homburg as it were that night :)

Thanks so much Tim! It was for sure!!
Love watching World Class and the Von Erics in the late 80’s. Such a cool company they had. I see Kevin on Twitter I think his sons are wrestling now.. pretty cool. Felt like the perfect chance to go with the Homburg
