Wearing my new black Vagabond today. It was stained and misshapen, and Ignacio made it like new.

It is in fact a very nice panama hat body. The seller had bought it decades ago in Ecuador and never got around to having a hat made out of it. I have some experience how this can turn out and a quality panama hat body is a no brainer anyway. Turns out it was a bit larger than I anticipated
Need to switch to plan B.
Ignacio is Gandalf's brother and Max's hatter. For me: who is Ignacio?
Ignacio is Gandalf's brother and Max's hatter.
Excellent as usual, Daniele.
It is so hard to keep up with the conversation on this thread. I think (hope) we all understand and appreciate the posts and comments. I too love the color combination in this hat... reminds me of a modern Borsalino Como that I owned for a while, which had the same colors in the ribbon/felt coordination, though reversed. Lovely hat.
Nice hat (felt) Daniele.
I thank you very much for your words. I'm often amazed by how much every day appears on these screens, but I don't have the time to follow everything and comment. But know that I appreciate you.Daniele; Seeing your hat collection is intriguing as I do not see these hats. Todays hat is especially interesting due it its felt and ribbon treatment. Be assured I really enjoy seeing your posts.

That one is even better than the last one, Michael. You obviously have some bomb thrifties in your neighborhood. I need to come and visit up there some weekend.Ha ha, I think they are one size fits all, Jim. I couldn't resist another one today, this one for a Noble Grand.

I expect I'll be wearing it for tomorrows coffee. They were made in New London Ohio between 1888 and 1913.
Wasn't Norms that guy on Cheers? The Mans at Home robe or banyan was pretty much standard fare from sometime in the 16th century until the 20th. We've just forgotten about it. An example from ~1750
Thanks Max. Those were a pair of nice hats you were showing today.
Thanks,
Michael
The hats are great icing...but you've got the cake right there, friend. Great pic.3 hats this evening, LOL.
The grandkids were over when I got home from work and wanted to wear hats ‘like Papa’.
I let them pick out their own:
1941 Strat for Lylah
3X Stetson Fifteen for Lincoln (compliments of Rmccamey !)
Mallory Dallas for me.

Thanks. First pic is a Portis, second and third my favorite Resistol.Nice pics. Is that the same hat in every shot? Seems to change colour in every shot.
Thanks Dale. The thrifts are boom and bust, but you are welcome to visit any time. As predicted, the Noble Grand got some use this morning, along with another smoking cap. That one is even better than the last one, Michael. I just googled it: Alejandro Ignacio?
Eric, Thank you! I happy to hear you like the info I post.Steve; Thanks for sharing your collection and knowledge. I just commented to Daniele the same sentiment that I would like to share with you that be assured that I truly appreciate your posts even though I do not reply enough. Your hats are very interesting. I did spend some time reading your posts about German and Austrian hats a couple of weeks ago. I need to make time to continue the read. Thanks very much sir.
Best to all, Eric -
Stefan, Thanks! It could be just after WWII. The factory was in the French district. A similar looking example has French wording on the paper label but this hat is in German.A bit surprising to see how modern it looks, Steve. Very nice. Now and again I find this type of hat with the crown patch missing and just the sweatband to go on. On yours the crown patch is still there and it's fantastic.
Daniele, Thank you! Yes I feel the same about European Black Hats. I was looking through a stack of hats and this Hutproduktiv "Standard" just grabbed my attention.Steve complimenti!
It is always a pleasure to see how European black hats are elegant, even when they are not of a known brand. These days I have gathered the black hats I have in my collection and I was fascinated by how interesting they are, especially when they come from little-known producers. Often even the recent ones, let's say made thirty years ago, have an allure that is captivating
Super! Did you post interior photos of this hat?Wearing the Hückel in the garden and enjoying a pipe. View attachment 190387 View attachment 190388
