What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

We attended an interactive Sherlockian play last night at a members lounge. It was interesting but no photography allowed.

Since I don't own a Deerstalker cap I was going to wear either a Homburg or a Derby, but I just kept hearing Waylon singing in my head:

"This suit and this tie, it's just a disguise
This ain't really me
Some people are born to be tied down
Some people are born to be free"

So I opted to wear a Gannon. Wore it out to feed this morning too but missed the soft first morning light.

That’s a great hat. I’ve been thinking of getting a black fedora myself.

"Great photo Steve. I love the thin lines of that brim. What flavor of Bowler is it?"

Thanks, Mike. I call it my René Magritte Bowler [emoji4]. It's a Collet, Bruxelles. I believe it to be circa 1930s based on its shape, liner, and its history that I have from the seller whom I met in person.

Oooooh! that liner is nice. The logo is a story in itself.

Today's black hat for the theater will be a 1930s Mallory Derby. This one doesn't see enough head time. It just screams wear me everyday. Nice thin brim with a tight curl makes the lines of this stiff felt shine. This matinee will complete the second marathon weekend of Mama Mia. Thursday through Sunday performances, really takes a lot out of me, but I have to remember my actors are working much harder than I. The pins in my hand have an infection going on, which is kind of gross. The Doctor gave me some heavy duty antibiotics which seem to be working. The will yank out the pins on Oct 15th. Literally, YANK them out, not exactly looking forward to this (I'm such a baby...) Looking forward to a couple of days rest before closing weekend coming.

I think there is some sort of mushroom foray this afternoon. May have to rethink my hat choice for that.

Love the color on this Stetson Michael. Good luck, fungi wise.

Wonderful Champ, Jonathan. Excellent jacket, too. Love that colour. Very autumnal.

Thanks, Steve. The jacket is probably a 70s Golden Bear, a recent addition. First wear of the season as jacket weather has finally hit the Upper Midwest.

I thought about pairing with one of my recently acquired hats yet to make a debut, but they still need to be steamed, brushed, and bashed. The B-17 was ready to go, so it gets the nod for today.

Wow....looks like a magazine ad for great hats. Very good look.

Thanks, Ken. Fortunately my ugly mug is hidden, otherwise the editors would have to Photoshop me out.
