Incredible hat, Steve. Love the proportions; crown brim and ribbon are great. I'd cowboy that thing up.

That’s one sweet hat!

Wow! Museum piece Steve.

Impressive hat, Steve. A treasure.

That one makes an impression. Loads of crown there.

A Beauty!

Wow! I would agree with Greg. If that were mine I'd find a pre-1930 beaded hat band and "cowboy" (or Indian) it up some. Great colors and shape. Congrats!

A real treasure, Steve. Thanks for posting this one. I love the hat industry pamphlet, too.
All, Thank you!

Looks nice but who is the maker? Maybe a picture of the inside?
Thanks. Made by Eric Watson in Cave Creek, Arizona. He calls it the Explorer, IMG_0432.jpg dress weight beaver, double diamond vents, Sahara color, with navy 16 line ribbon and a 2 7/8” brim. Nice and cool with the vents, which honestly look too small to be functional.

I like the little details of the suede ribbon on this Champ. Good on you for some comfortable temps!

Wow Tom, way to make a splash on your entry to this family. Very nice looking custom. Love the lines and the liner. Keep 'em coming, looks like you will fit right in!

Wearing another of my conversions. I had to do a little extra work on this Stagecoach. This is another of my longhair conversions that I did a few weeks ago. The dye on this one washed out a bit after a few previous reblockings and other changes which left the brim looking faded and splotchy. I stripped it down again and put it aside for future experimentation when the occasion would ever arise. After some consideration I decided to recondition the felt and do some luring on it. The end result came out really nice. The felt has a nice luster and the splotchiness is hardly visible, except for under certain light....additionally, bond sent me some ribbons that he took off of old hats he worked on and I found this vintage black 1 1/2 ribbon and bow in the mix that worked out perfect for this hat. The bow is simple and clean and not elaborate at all but it has a vintage look that I really like so I didn't even consider making any changes to it. The undertone of this hat has a grayish appearance so the black ribbon worked out very well. The hat has my usual tall straight crown and is creased in my preferred Teardrop.

A stingy morning I think. This 1956 Lee back bow "SmartLee" in a nice gray today. Factory crease, which is common for the period, with a interesting pinkish liner and nice gray sweat. Brim just a hair under 2". The seller said that her father bought this one on their honeymoon in 1956 (she was born a year later) and her mother was not happy about the purchase of a new hat out of their available money. Hence, Dad didn't wear it much...it shows in the overall pristine condition.

Thanks for sharing these photos. I’ve seen Watson’s shop on line and viewed their YouTube videos, but this is the first of their hats I’ve seen in the wild. It looks great and you wear it well.

Greetings All:
Today it’s one of my favorite Borsalinos. I love the classic look of a grey hat with a wide black ribbon but i never feel comfortable with the high contrast.
This one is a treat to play with. It’s felt is so thin and obedient it all but creases just by blowing on it. Borsa kicked out a good one with this fellow.

Not sure of age.
Be well. Bowen

Light grey Beaver Creek Hat Co in erm, beaver felt. It had a cattleman crease but switched to centre dent, although not sure about that.

I confess that I had some buyers remorse when I bought this in the shop on holiday as I should have spent the money on one of the many fine hatters here.
