Happy Friday, all.

Based on the $12.50 price point, this is a 1944 or thereafter Dobbs Game Bird (Mr. Bowers helped me with that tidbit).

It's got a nifty little zigzag double stitching treatment on the brim that is reminiscent of the Borsalino that Bill showed us last week.

Enjoy the day.

I've always liked that teal game bird! If it fit me I would give an arm & a leg in a trade with you, Matt!

You know you have a problem when you have more derbies than most people have hats and you forget about the difference between derby and bowler and call them all stiff hats and focus instead on the savory variations in crown height and crown shape and brim flange and bow swoop and you have to seek intervention from friends and family to keep from buying them all.

Two hats from Italy came in yesterday. Daniele outdid himself this time. Had to try on the blue coloured borsalino that was on offer here in the classifieds first. Because no one jumped, I did. Glad I did; it is indeed a gem of a hat. Rodolfo (Chamuco) wore a petrol coloured Weis this week and this is a colour that comes close to that one I think. After try-out I narrowed the pinch a bit.

Wow Stefan, such a lovely shade of blue. Has kind of a blue/green on my monitor. Love it.

Wow, that's a lot of hats. In that room I would feel like a kid in a candy store!

P. & C. Habig Vienna "Camber" with Ventilo probably early to mid 1950s. This hat was made for the American market. Also unique because it was a Dress style.

Ventilo Felt Vents (I haven't been able to find the Austrian Patent)

Very nice Habig, Steve. I'm quite fond of the combination brown felt and black (wide) ribbon. The Ventilo system seems unique too, but probably too labour intensive to be a success.
