Going to a reception for a book I did research for after work today. It is the memoir of a former OSU President, so an OSU commemorative hat, the Slats Gill Playboy clone. Cold snap in Oregon for the next few days. Felts!

A dog walk in a Gannon (Silverbelly beaver and charcoal trimmings).

Sleet and wind over-night has me working on yard clean-up. Limbs and branches lay all over the yard and beach. Carrying them to the wood stack had me working up a sweat after an hour. Filson jacket and Stormy Kromer my traditional work choice.

Sure enough I found big limbs which I could not move without making them smaller. Losing the wool jacket and switching to a cap that better works with ear-protection I started the chain saw in a Monsavais cap.

It may be 18'f, but the work had me comfortable without a jacket.

This is one of the chief executives in my hat room. Pre-WWII Stetson Clear Beaver western hats don't come up for sale often. This one was discovered by Lounge member Zetwal and I was fortunate to be able to purchase it from him. I made a thread for it with more photographs here.
c.1940, more or less, price labeled at $37.50, which would be more than $650 today.
