Dreary day today with a dreadly drizzle for the most part. English weather asks for an English hat, so the Battersby today. This really is an exquisite hat and sooo comfortable. The loose bow ends set it apart.

I can dig it. So is that bow three pieces of ribbon? Like an X and a loop over the middle? How close did you bring the hat ribbon to the bow? I have a thin ribbon job to do but it's my first and I only have one yard so I'm a little gun-shy.

The ribbon is one piece. The bow is just folded over back on itself and extended out to give the "tails. Then the knot ("keep") is a small piece I wrap around the bow and use a tack stitch on.

Go for it!

My favorite of yours. But you knew that.

Getting to know the new iPhone camera...

The unruly bow is what caught my attention. Looks great.

I always love seeing that hat.

Well, the Danes and Irish go a long way back together, Karl. King Sitric could have played for either country:)
oh after their second goal went in I was threatened with expulsion from the TV room, so I stuck to ragging moon about the entymology of American cultural terms in another thread as the Danes scored another three.

Don't see you wear that one too often, Karl. Nice hat though and the felt ribbon gives it a different touch.
thanks, it's a cool hat but I need a lighter scarf and boots or something to blend it in. It was a gift from Daniele and I wear it quite a lot when it's damp but not exactly raining.

all black today. c.1920s Schwarz. had to force a happy look, mourning a tragic loss of my father in law yesterday. Hug your significant others, children, siblings, pets for me on this day. Give all the love you can, because in the end, that is all we have

Condolences, ironically without knowing about you and yours, that's been the topic of conversation today.

My wife sobbing because her dad is getting older and he's getting more tired, and the Holidays are coming, which brings extra pressure and expectations.

Nice Biltmore Bob, another interesting feather or do you move it around from hat to hat?
