Went to Cliveden House, west of London today. Waldorf Astor bought and renovated it in 1895. I guess he was the equivalent of today's billionaires.

No name straw for me and my wife.

She wants to reshape it... hmmm, she has been asking a lot of questions about hats recently... she mentioned a cloche hat she likes... this may be good news for my hat buying budget!

I want a suit jacket like that! Great looking Stetson. It is quite similar to mine, maybe a touch wider brim, but a cousin for sure.
Thanks Red. I got that coat at the city rummage. Sadly, lacking the matching pants. The brim on this one is spot on 2 1/2".

I like that hat Esther. A lot.

Third photo showing the crease looks like a hat fashion shoot shot, great hat.
Thank you sir.

Great photos Windsock8e. But to me it sounds decidedly bad for you hat budget. Even if the total budget increases you will now be getting only every other hat.

Went to a theater folk party this evening. Cool evening out on a deck swapping stories. The Barbisio "mullet-berg" Lobbia was a perfect companion. My theater friends are beginning to expect and appreciate my hats finally. This one was a big hit!

Don't let your wife discover Esther or you'll find her with her own creations!

Thanks Michael, the cool weather and some rain overnight (first in 57 days) prompted some brushing, maintenance of storage and fondling of felts. I'll be able to trot out a couple more until mid-week when we are back to 85 degrees.
Fondling of hats is a good thing: it refreshes the natural oils in the hairs (at least that's what I tell myself when I find myself petting a hat).

Maybe you can buy Clivedon House to store them in if it gets out of hand.
