This plane has a 90 hp Continental engine and cruises at 115 mph. It cannot do aerobatics and the "rush" is more that it is an easy plane to fly, but to fly it well requires attention and practice and when you get it right, it gives you a smile like few others - musicians will know that feeling amongst others. It has its risks, but anyone who rides a motorbike will have had their near misses as well.

I just like seeing the world at 1,500 feet at sunset - magic.

I'm sure it is but I get squirrely 10 feet off the ground.

Rustic! Nice jacket, it compliments that hat perfectly.

Got to fly my share-o-plane Luscombe Silvaire 8e for the first time in 5 weeks due to holidays and work. Modern Kangol as fedoras don't really work with a headset.

I like that Kangol. I need some more ivy caps. My haberdasher carries this brand, I need to check them out.

When we were on the ferry across the Strait of Juan de Fuca returning from Victoria, I didn't even try to have a hat on. You are a brave man.

Glorious cloudy skies this morning for the farmer's market, 65 degrees. Pulled out my Knox Premier Strat clone from the winter bone pile and enjoyed some felt. It will be back in the high 80s in a couple of days.

yeh, i'd have been sad to lose that cap, worn it well over a thousand times. It's basically retired these days.

View attachment 81308 Day #2 at the Newport Jazz Festival. Yesterday benny golson, the Christian McBride big band, Branford Marsalis, and snarky puppy were the stars of the day. Today started out with the Massachusetts all-state big band. They were high schoolers, and phenomenally good. My son was a little sour on them cuz he auditioned for that band and was rejected. Their loss! But even he had to admit they knew their stuff. Not big on the current big stage band, gonna go wander and see who is on the smaller stages.

Sounds fantastic. Wish I could be there. Enjoy the festival. By the way nice hat!
