I like the Balmoral, it has great lines. Tantalizing peak of that hat, It may be something cool. Maybe there is someone to contact at the historical sight that can fill us in.

There might be. I will need to go back when it has everything open and the information center has people to talk to. I can pretend that it is an extremely rare hat. It adds more intrigue to the view though the crack. [emoji102]

Nice find Michael! By the looks of the graphics on the pug, it kind of feels 60s or earlier. Cool beans!

Wonderful details on that Akubra. It looks cool and stylish. I like it.

GQ look. That hat has some real class.

Thanks Red. I would guess '50s to early '60s, but it's only a guess. It seems Penney's had used the Hopoka straw name since at least the early '40s.

Nope, 2 3/8" brim. The pictures make it look lighter than it is.

Very interesting.....perhaps mine is a early production or promo model.......mine has the yellow welted white satin lining and does not display the red Royal Deluxe emblem.....though it is labeled as such on the sweat....the dimentional differances I understand sometimes occurr on the premium open crown hats.....perhaps they put a little more felt into the brim on mine because of the size......to keep it more proportional.....anyway.....I like the bash you did on yours......it is a great looking hat!
