Thanks Red. I think this jacket may be of the made at home variety. A nice light Madras with no labels and just a few minor points that seem to be done in a non-industrial manner. Very well done though.

Thanks, Red. I had him knock it down from a 7 3/8 to a 7 1/4. He wasn't sure if it would need a new one or not, so I asked him to save it if he could but left the judgment up to him. Thankfully, he was able to keep the original intact.

Looking sharp as usual, Michael. I hope the festival goes well. Are you aware that the bicycle is celebrating it's 200th anniversary this month? Apparently the Tour de France is starting in the town where the bicycle was first invented. Honestly, I'm glad there has been some advancements since then.

Thanks Willebe. And no, I didn't know it was the 200th for the bicycle. That old one would be fun to try. Looks like it would be fun to build too. I must say your bike looks very sleek in comparison. I've been toying with the idea of going back in time for a bike and getting a probably 1960s Dunelt 3 speed and rebuilding it. The forecast for the festival is good. For a change.

From what I read, the first bike was rejected and scoffed at as a monstrostosity. I'm glad people persisted. If I lived in town and was able to make market trips, etc., I would love to have a vintage bike to pedal about on for errands and such.

I've been playing with the crease on my Gannon lately, mostly varying the side dents to look more interesting: View attachment 77842

I can't decide which I like better, but I guess I don't have to. Michael Gannon makes good hats that can change at one's whim.

Hi Dschonn, I'm going to order either a BGCD or a grey FED IV in the next few days and I see you have owned and enjoyed them both. From your experience, is there a deciding factor that would compel you to choose one over the other? My only complaint with the FED IV is that I would probably feel like trimming the brim because I'd rather have a round cut. I see you were thinking the same thing at one point - did you finally grow into the brim? (I'd probably want to cut the Campdraft brim as well to get rid of the trim ribbon, but I'm willing to try it out and see if I grow into it whereas I feel dead set against the Indy look in the FED IV.)

BTW, I love what you did the BGCD brim in this shot. It suits you perfectly, sir!

For your consideration, the Optimo Silverbelly is the wear for today. I am still working on my selfie technique and I probably need more pixels in my camera. This may be my favorite hat in my collection. Optimo added the feather and it is very subtle in appearance.
