I experienced more than a few food items offensive to the Western nose in my nearly 30 years as a cook/chef, but fermented shrimp paste had to be the worst Asia has to offer. If there is anything smellier, I'm glad I didn't have to cook it.

Have you ever had "stinky tofu?" I think that's the worst smell Asia has to offer.

Where does kimchee stack up in the offensive odor food fight? Leave a few open jars on their porch. It always gets lots of attention in my house, just by opening the lid.

I need to admit, I Googoo'd "hotboxing" so's not to embarrass myself. Looks like fun, from the photos! See sample, below...

It's a wonderful color, Bob.

Churchill Beaver 100/ Vicuna... one that should come out of the suitcase more often. More photos of this hat here.

What's with the concerned face, you ask? The wife and I noticed that ever since the new neighbors moved in across the street, our whole cul de sac reeks of the Mary-Jane. So much so, that the smell has been periodically stuck in our cars' air filters. I have no problem with people enjoying their sacred herb, but if this is how it's gonna be, then I think I have the right as a Filipino to flood their driveway with the smell of coconut vinegar...

Nice Hommie! LOL at your passive-aggressive ideas!

It's a young couple with kids... We're pretty sure they're hot-boxing in the husband's truck (parked outside) to keep the little ones in the dark about it. I guess I could passive aggressively let them know that the cul de sac is aware of their recreation by leaving munchy gift-baskets on their front porch.

You sure look great in that hat! You once said Roger has a perfect face for a hat wearer, and I agree, but so do you, Man!

Hey folks!
Many thanks for the likes and kind words on my recent posts.
Today, I wear this G.B. Borsalino fu Lazzaro & C. that I suppose is from around 1930. Formerly known as Merle due to the signature inside that may or may not be Merle Haggard. I just can't call it that anymore after having binge-watched The Walking Dead recently. Don't want to think about having Darrell's brother on my head...:D

Nice Borsa in any event!

I was wondering about the fish the Icelanders let rot in a pot and then eat . Hot Boxing looks pretty fun .

Ludefisk! Ugh! My ex, longtime GF was a 6'1" Norwegian blond and her mother insisted on ALL the traditional foods at Christmas, including ludefisk. I recall seeing a picture of her Dad bringing in the ludefisk from their cold air, enclosed deck... with his woodworking/spray paint face mask on. Hilarious!

Well, if that's what hot boxing is then I have NO problem with it being in my cul de sac...

Re kimchee -- I married a Korean and we both love the smell! That makes kimchee a good weapon -- we are impervious to its odor but the neighbors will surely despise it.

Haha ! Every time I've been to Portland I've seen those giant "aggressive" Norwegian women , they pack Jubits , or used to . Its funny . That Ludefisk looks horrible , I bet it smells worse .
