Stylish family rings in the New Year. Should be the caption in the local paper tomorrow. Nice hats.

Welcoming the new year with my great grandfather's topper as requested by Michael A.
His name was Manuel Gonzalez Calzada, and lived in Salamanca. His initials are stamped in ink on the inside. The hat shows it's age, but I'm greatful it has survived.

Kuki, that's gorgeous. And you wear it with panache. Granddad would be pleased.

Nice! The Mrs from Ecuador has us throwing 12 pennies over our shoulders at midnight. Interesting traditions!
Interesting indeed! I never heard of the 12 pennies, sounds like fun!

Nice! What's the tradition behind the grapes?

I don't know! Apparently it has been around for more than a century, and everyone does it over here. It's fun!

Neat hat.

Happy new year!

Thank you! I suspect great grandad would be horrified, wouldn't he? Happy to live in more premissive and fun times! :)

Wife and I pulled ourselves off our "death recliners" (don't get bronchitis and migraines at the same time) and made it out for a short walk with the dogs. We were wearing our go-to farm hats. My American Hat Co. 3X and her beater Resistol. Yeah ... some farm dogs have it easier than others.
