Nice one. That green liner is extra cool!C.W.N. "Liberty", an antique Wool Soft Felt, came from a East German source. You can see that it attracts lint but the felt is nothing like wool hat felt today. It's hard to explain in words so you have to have the hat in hand.
Wooooo! Sweet get up there Greg!
Best looking lint trap I've seen!C.W.N. "Liberty", an antique Wool Soft Felt, came from a East German source. You can see that it attracts lint but the felt is nothing like wool hat felt today. It's hard to explain in words so you have to have the hat in hand.
One of a kind and looks unique, I like it.It'e been a while....been busy.
Black Cherry by North West Hats. I am super in love with this color. I posted something in the NW Hats thread the other day that sparked a few responses. I just want to reiterate that I really like my hats....but feel they are overpriced by $100. Again though that is IMHO. My friend who is also into hats feels the same way. She has way more experience in custom hats than I do.
Regardless mike is a great guy to work with and he definitely is a skilled hat maker. Working with him was easy and a pleasure.

Harv, Thanks! You are looking great in your 1950s Resistol!Nice one. That green liner is extra cool!
Thank you! Super looking NOS Borsalino Long Hair!Best looking lint trap I've seen!
Thank you too! My guess is early 1900s. The felt has a really unusual hand. It's very soft but will not dry crease. From what I can remember the black dye is only partially impregnated. In Europe Wool Soft and Stiff Felt hats were very popular pre WWII and the hat companies were always trying to improve them. This hat has some characteristics of the Wool Stiff Felts but without the extreme stiffness. Sorry for the long winded response but this is a very unique hat in my collection. By the way great looking Stetson St. Regis! That is some seriously luxurious looking felt... How old do you think this one is?
Hi Blue. Sorry for the delay in my response, I just saw your post.Beautiful! How does vitafelt feel in the hand -- is it similar to dynafelt? Also, what era are your vitafelts from?
I dig the raw brim. It is a very good look for you, Bob.Federation

What kind of conversations do these guys provide? I've been trying to not follow the orders being shouted by the ones in my living room. They have poor judgement in my opinion.I've got six:
Beautiful color! Impressive hat. It is ironic that the hat comes from an East German source with "Liberty" stamped on the sweat.C.W.N. we are a balmy 29 degrees and hard freezing rain, kind of like a glazed doughnut. You look sufficiently bundled up to attack the Arctic blast. I find myself paying attention more to the National weather to check up on my Lounge friends.I flirted with it one other day, but 10 degrees and a 20 mph wind brought out the plaid and fur hat.

And a whole lot of Filson.

Here's hoping your day was warmer. I see all of your hats were classier for sure.
Michael
Barely bundled up enough. I think it will be long coat weather for awhile. I have to admit that 29 with freezing rain sounds pretty miserable. I prefer a dry cold to a wet cold.we are a balmy 29 degrees and hard freezing rain, kind of like a glazed doughnut. You look sufficiently bundled up to attack the Arctic blast.
