I'm in a different dimension still, there are white rabbits in my living room telling me what to post, sorry folks. I love this fuzzy wuzzy Borso. The white rabbit third from the left thinks it is a relative of his...
Thanks Red!
Is said bunny speaking to you in Italian? If so, he may be right. I'd say feel better, but any "better" might be dangerous. Get well. And the fourth bunny to the right is full of it. He never did half the stuff he claims.
Just wait. They multiply like...um, well, you know...
...and I dont believe D'Aquino has any really straight sided #52/ 6 inch blocks. I've never seen one of their hats in real life but most of the pics I've seen have to much crown taper for my tastes. No comparison. I have two D'Aquino bunnies (well, one is my wife's Agent Carter hat) and a beaver. While the FEPSA beaver felt is very nice, it doesn't compare to the four custom beavers I have (three Gannons, one Gus Miller). A beaver for $250 is a good price from NW (I don't own any NW Hats). D'aquino can only customize to a certain extent, and the finishing quality isn't the same as a custom.
D'Aquino was a nice stopover on my way to customs, but I doubt if I'll ever go back.
I haven't felt a D'Aquino beaver-felt -- Won't reach NW's quality, I'm sure, but the cost is only around 100.00 US and they'll customize at no extra charge.

Shipping? It cost me abt $40 USD to get my hat shipped from Esther.

I can personally attest to the crowns on the D'Aquino standard production fedora being too high in the front and too tapered. I solved this with her by asking for the crown on my homburg to be plain, center-dented, 4.5" high at the dent, no rake, and with no stiffening (so I could refold after steaming) and she was able to deliver totally to spec. So far, she's been able to hit specs on point if they are listed out very specifically. That being said -- I think Luisa's lids will always have at least a little taper.
Shipping was 18.4 Euro (19.30 USD) to California from Portugal. Takes about ten business days from store to door =)
Im really talking more abt her blocks and crown blocking not so much about creases/pinches and crown height and front to back rake. At one time I was just starting to correspond with her abt a size 7 1/4, six inch, open crown, straight sided block and she never followed up on my email requests or questions. I didnt want her to crease/pinch/bash but wanted open crown.
Long story short, I dont believe she had the block to do want I wanted, so therefore no follow up.
