Thanks for the kind words and likes, everyone.

Charlie, I'm starting to think the "over the goggles" shot is just the Zoolander "cold ice" with a hat. Maybe I need to pucker more

Did you all enjoy your Shrove Tuesday pancakes yesterday? Any Lenten abstinences you want to share? Let me tell you, if I had to give up hat wearing during lent, perhaps because I lost a bet, or it might raise money for charity, like the way some folk shave their head, I just couldn't give up checking this thread out. It's my daily fix.
Modern trousers are mainly slim fit, tapered and without a cuff turned up at the bottom. Trying to find a suitable pair to match both this lid, and, the Oxford Blazer has been, to say the least, frustrating. However, my wife suggested that if I buy an oversize pair she might be able to do something with them. These pants are pure wool, waist was about two inches too big and the length was also two inches too long. By unpicking each leg seam, she was able to almost give the leg a straighter look, the excess length was turned up to great effect and the excess in the waist and backside areas now have an adjuster to give them a comfortable fit. She replaced the zip fly with buttons and sewed buttons front and back for braces/suspenders. The result is as you see, really impressive, and to think that these pants were hanging, unloved in a charity shop, with no takers even when priced down from five pounds to just two. She does me proud.

Many thanks for the likes on the Tonak mauve felt (fantastic color)

Today is the day of Herring and unfortunately I have to work in my studio.
Pale sun and pleasant temperature

I'm back from an hour of stretching in the gym and for the occasion wearing a homburg Tirard Supra

It 's hard to find Tirard on the vintage market. Here there is one

Felt medium to light gray with ribbons in gray-pink gradient

Excellent finishes with gold stamps on the sweatband
It came NOS :)

Congratulations Daniele. Once again, you have led me into one of the seven deadly sins: Envy.

Man... I love your homburgs!

This morning, I was standing out front snapping my hat shots. My son comes out the front door for the drive to the bus stop. Suddenly, he lets out a startled cry. He just saw me out of the corner of his eye and thought that I was "Frankenstein or something."

Priceless.

He was kind enough to take a shot of me in the blue Dobbs Fifteen, though. He's a nice kid.

NOS? New old stock? Not otherwise specified? Non capisco.
Daniele, that's a beautiful homburg, and I envy you finding ANY vintage hat as NOS

@ GHT Per capirsi meglio: new old stock o rimanenza di magazzino o negozio
@ Strapped-4-Cache not always! Borsalino is rare to find NOS, is more easy with other Italians brands (Barbisio, Panizza, Vanzina, Cervo). I was luchy to find a French hats shop selling what's remain

Thanks MMBarnes I partecipate at the homburgs war you declared some weeks ago ;-)

Harv you are truly a renaissance man! You do photography as well? Opening a studio/gallery? Magnificent mid-week Mallory in the Mustang, mate!

All the hats have been just super this week; much better than last week. But then, we get better and better every week!

Today, following Perry's lead, Stetson's new version of an Excellent Quality Strat., in caribou.

Thanks Charlie!
Love the Strat on you, my friend. You don't wear enough thin ribbons!
