It's actually an L.L.Bean coat that is so close to the Woolrich 523 right down to the internal drawstring that I think Woolrich must have made them for the Bean!

Temporarily derailing the thread...

I've got a camping trip coming up and buffs/shields/whatever you call them come in handy in cold weather. These shields have been promoted on FB for a while at safishing.com. I have no affiliation with them other than the recent purchase. Relative heat wave here in Minnesota. It has climbed to 10'F. I have broken out a hat to wear today that I received last week during our very cold weather. I introduce you to my Dobbs Cross Country (gray felt with charcoal ribbon).

This hat challenges me. I am a hat wearer and try not to collect hats that I will not wear. This hat challenges me. I have searched for a while. After a false start I acquired this one and it arrives in immaculate condition. It is super light-weight. I know other loungers own the exact hat. I was inspired on my search by Alan's fedora featured here - http://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/side-by-side-hat-comparisons.65983/ post #2.
I am challenged by the idea to keep this vintage hat pristine in a box or wear it.

I am chosing to wear. It joins my others on my hat rack.

Not a cool weather fedora at all, but I have been excited to wear the hat in public.

The Cross Country and Gannon (moss green) will be my hats for today.

That Cross Country is gorgeous Eric! I have one in a grey-brown color.... with moth bites. One of my favorite hats because I don't worry about it at all. I would worry about yours if it were mine..... I'd still wear it though!
