Today long walk in the quit sun with Meer in blue

It was made in France probably around the 30'

The felt is mixed, thick and very malleable

Unlined as most of the hats in that time, it has a "fat" crown

I had this over on the Borsalino BrotherHood Threads by mistake so am reposting here...

Here is my recently acquired Vintage 1942 Stetson Stratoliner in Slate Gray... Ultra Light Vita Felt .
it was 7 1/8 and I bumped it out to 7 3/16 almost 7 1/4 and near perfect fit using a Fat Charly's Hat Jack ...fit it into hat at just below top of Sweat Band, snug it up fairly tight, apply Steam around the outside of Sweat Band area for 360 degrees, let set for 1 hour, remove Hat Jack and try on....Repeat if not a good fit.
I would not try for more than 1/8 in size for fear of damaging, ripping the Sweat Band & leaving a ridge on outside of Crown Felt...

Super lookin" Strat, Bolero. Wish I could find similar vintage lids. My issue is the opposite - generally too large for my teensy head.

Wearing a black, late '50s Dobbs 20 today. The brim is a bit narrow for my tastes, but it has a nice hand and a Cavanaugh edge.
