I found that soft hats were easier for him to wear, i tried a straw one, but it's uncomfortable when he's in the buggy.
So i just stitched him a bunch hats in fun prints to wear when the sun is out.

But he does prefer wearing ours, he finds them endlessly entertaining.

Gotta start when they are young, right?

Montecristi with brown ribbon - nice option for those non-black days. Purchased at auction a few years back from former Lounge member Zetwal. He had a great eye for hats but kept only a few for his own use. At $175, it remains the most expensive of the seven optimo creased montis that I've purchased. Apparently they have become more expensive of late.
