Moe... does that run on a battery? Or is it plugged directly into the wall? Love the electric blue!

Thanks Charlie, your always good cheer and swoop'n brims my bro. Here's to anesthesia!

Uh, guys, he said he was chauffeuring, not participating!

Hey everyone!

Today is a "soft debut" of my latest creation. Moehawk Original No. 6 is Winchester beaver in Navy. I tried to make it as close to an OR as I coud. I call it a "soft debut" as it was my first attempt at binding a brim with a sewing machine. Harder than one might think, especially for a newbie to the world of mechanized sewing. I have another piece of ribbon in the dye bath, going to redo it tonight in a shade closer to the felt. The band and bow will stay the brighter blue.

I'll post more pics when I'm happier with the brim. Even with the binding being wonky I still got 3 compliments from passers by in less than an hour. :)

Have a great day!

Me likey!

Esther, thanks for the tips. I do appreciate knowledge from folks more experienced than I.
Javadave, neither battery or AC. It is nuclear powered blue.:D
Fruno, TY for the compliment.
hatsRme, the dye is called "brilliant blue", but I like your version way better.

Moehawk; Excellent posts of late. I do enjoy your creations. The electric blue is a one of a kind and you do it well.

Fruno; Your pics show a man comfortable wearing hats. Thanks for todays contribution.

Steve; Classy hat and shirt combo.

Esther; A pleasure lately to tune into your contributions to this thread. Excellent bigger brim fedoras.

Charlie; I tip my hat in your direction today. Heck, perhaps I should just tip my hat in a generally eastern direction every morning as the pics from out east are terrific daily. I will this out tomorrow and see it should be a daily ritual.

All contributors; THANKS for sharing. I only have time to comment on a few posts this evening.

Cool weather continues here in Minnesota, USA. Our temps this evening are in the low 60's F and heading for upper 40's F late tonight. Excellent start to a felt fedora wearing season. On the negative it signals the end of the garden season is coming. I am "sporting a vtg. Lee Cameo. It is a mushroom brown-green felt with an olive ribbon. Excellent color choices, IMO.

TY, SBG! That certainly means a lot coming from somebody with such exquisite taste in hats (and I am sure in many other areas of life and living) as yourself. That Cameo, IMHO, deserves more of a starring role.:eusa_clap

Well I hope it's helpful :), just little things that make it easier for me.
You did a super job considering you're just started doing it with a sewing machine! Great bold color ribbon too!

Nice bash, Serge. Saw your photos in the bash thread, too.
Hi, Joao! Nice display, as usual.
Moe, thanks for the vote of confidence. I think, if the brim was a little flatter, the up-brim wouldn't look so goofy on me. The look on my face doesn't help, either!
SBG, that's a very nice compliment, IMHO, one of the highest for this forum.
HatsRme - hope everything worked out for your friend.

Two more Aloha Fridays before Labor Day, including today. Celebrating with one of my Dalton rescue projects.

Thanks. That Dalton has a really nice, high crown. What is that, 6+ open?

Happy Friday everyone. It's the D'Aquino for me today.

Thanks again for all the sympathy yesterday. All went well, and his troubles are all behind him now!

Fantastically fine Fawcett Friday for me, Folks (Can't say "fellas," in the event that Esther posts...!)
Wearing my VS whiskey full proportion fedora... and sporting my new Pocket Protector!! They're almost as hard to find as a vintage Whippet in my size.

And to the posters of this AM, ALREADY fantastic!
Fruno that Dalton is a lid for every day... just classic! Aloha!!
Same for your D'aquino, Dave. Super look!!
Serge You have mastered the Hollywood brim, Bud! (I really like those)
Joao, the shade continues... And it IS a BIG Country!
And a GOOD morning, Greg... Yikes, Stripes! Love 'em!
