You sure know how to wear a Homburg, be it straw or felt!!

Thanks, Serge. I am partial to Homburgs, though I think that's only because I was initially afraid of wider-brimmed hats. :)

you have a great look my man

your past couple pics have been fantastic .... it is inspiring me

it's a drummer thing :)

Right back at ya, Moon.

You guys must be on the Vic Firth Artist Roster!!

So which is it, S Drummer, gray or black? Both great, but I'm feeling black is more formal. Whatever you end up with, that is one sweet lid, and you know how to wear it!

Love me some Vic Firths, but more than not for the last decade it's been the Premier KP2 (that's a pipe band snare drum stick).

I picked up a Stetson Saxon for really cheap; so cheap it literally crumbled in my hands upon examination. But it took me all of 10 seconds to realize the ribbon will fit perfectly over top of the gray ribbon on the Biltmore and you can't tell the other is there. For now, I'm just going to switch depending on my outfit or my mood.

by the looks of this I am guessing I'm NOT the only drummer here..............how many of "US" are there?

We are everywhere, much to the chagrin of math teachers everywhere. (I can still hear her saying, "Hey, Bongo Bob, stop beating on the desk!")

I've played Vics for probably 25 years ... or however long it has been since I actually cared what twigs I was using
.... not on the roster unfortunately but I have met Vic himself a number of times and do get an artist discount on sticks

Greg--thanks for the compliment on the Borsa. I wonder if when you show up for a job interview wearing a hat they think you have character or you are a character.

Alan--crisp-looking buntal. Optimo does nice restoration work.

Here's one that needs some work, but I'm wearing it anyway.

I guess I shouldn't trot out my drummer jokes?

I want y'all to remain my friends!

I've heard 'em all so we are all good

maybe I can add a few to your repertoire ....

what do you call a guy that hangs out with a bunch of musicians ? .... obvious answer

how do you know there is a drummer at your door ?.... the knock slows down/speeds up ... whichever you prefer

how many drummers does it take to screw in a lightbulb ? ... five... one to screw in the lightbulb and four to talk about how much better Buddy Rich could have done it

how do you know there is a drummer on your front porch ? ... you just tipped him for delivering your pizza

what do you call a drummer that breaks up with his girlfriend ?... homeless

etc etc

I decided three months ago to leave my well-paying but high-stress job and take my chances. I need to find something soon because my hat addiction is not getting fed due to lack of funds!

I do hope the interview went well. As a service to you, I (and I'm sure many others) am willing to purchase some of your wonderful hats at a discounted price. This will provide you with cash to get you through to the next job, AND you'll have even MORE hats to buy when you are fully employed again. Helping never felt so good.

Hey everyone!
Last Saturday I picked up an old Open Road 3X Beaver at the flea market.

One dismantling, re-sizing, and re-assembly later:

The color is sun-kissed Silverbelly. My sweatband stitching proficiency has now reached the level of thin-ribbon compatibility.[emoji41]
Have a great day everybody!

Ok, here's a couple straw hats I recently bought at J.J Hat Center in NYC a few weeks ago. Excellent place, btw; bought there before.
Not great pics, just wanted to snap some off quickly. Had a little trouble uploading the 3rd hat, so will try that later.
