Hi y'all! Almost a year has past, and I'm still courting little mermaids and eating Southern fried ugly ducklings ... or is it the other way around ... hmmm ...?!??!!! :essen: :eusa_doh:

I had to change my plans on moving to Nashville. It turned out, that it would cost the company and me North of $400,000 to send me and my future monthly pay checks to TN, to contribute to the local economy. For that amount I can buy appr. 1,000 round trip flights (Copenhagen - Nashville), so it was not the hardest of decisions. On top of that, my 6 years older sister became very ill in the early fall, and we finally lost her to the cancer a couple of months ago. That - and the impact it had on the family and our bonds - made the choice even easier.

I'm absolutely sure, I'll visit the South once a year (or maybe every second year) in the future, but I won't be moving to TN permanently.

A wise person once said: "Buried in every tragedy lies a hidden gift", and that may very well be true. At least I inherited a wonderful 1140 sqft. apartment very close to the centre of Copenhagen. Nothing has been done to it for 30 years, so I have a lot of work waiting to be done, but in the fall I will hopefully be able to accommodate any visiting lounger. That was an open invitation, Amigos - so please feel free to ask, if you're going this way

There are just so many wonderful hats, I haven't commented on in this thread, so I can't overcome them all. I haven't been doing much hat-nerding for a year, so I think I'll take a fresh start from here. Hope you can forgive me that

Actually I just bought the first hat since I visited Mike and the "boys" in Covington last March:





A Borsalino Mascotte (Antica Casa) with a beautiful brim treatment, that Alan and David (DJH) have proudly shown on several occasions. I suddenly noticed it on eBay (one of my favorite sellers had it up for a BIN), and I just had to pull the trigger! Only 2-1/8" brim is usually below my comfort zone, but this particular hat stretched the zone somewhat downwards. It's silhouette and probably other features make the brim width less important/significant, I guess(?)

The color is the Borsa-color: "Rutenio", which is a rich mid-grey with lots of different (manly warm) undertones. The ribbon is a 14''' in a cooler grey - and the hat has a generous 2", oilsilk-backed sweat in super condition! Size is 6 Punti (7-3/8), but it fits my 7-1/4 head perfectly. Sellers estimate was "late 50s" ... my own is: "early 60s".

Sam, I know. I find denim jackets to be a challenge to make combos with. Other LVC's or premium denim? I have quite a lot of it, but I don't want to look like matchy-matchy Mr. Denim Man. So there's my khakis and other chinos. So it will be a challenge!
