javadave, nice purchase for $10. Looks good on you too. With a little work your Dynafelt could come out of the beater category.

Many thanks, Mr. Jones! And that's a perfect crown on that hat of yours.

What a difference a half hour makes. Finished doing my work, turn around, and the sun's out and the snow is gone. Perfect time to celebrate with my new Strat Straw that came today.

Ordinary Guy thanks a lot for the appreciation.
This make me less doubtful about some hats that do not convince me at all.
The SunBody you see is modelled by Mike at NorthWest Hats.
I sent him some photos of hats I like to have a very similar model in palm leaf.
I have another, from him, that is very close to a "gambler".
They are really confortable for the Italians mid seasons, but when it is full summer I need a more light hat (panama or linen) because the humidity is too high for this type of natural hat.
They worth the "nice price" they cost

Searching for the ghost of Jack Kerouac in North Beach, San Francisco this morning. I didn't find him but ended up at one of his former hangouts, Caffe Trieste, for cappuccino, live music and conversation. A Borsalino Alessandria seemed to be the appropriate head gear.

Way cool G.D.

Thanks, dh and OG. Here's a little bit of history on Caffe Trieste. The article mentions the Beat writers who used to hang out there, one of whom was Michael McClure, who taught at California College of Arts and Crafts when I worked there over a decade ago. I used to have some interesting conversations with him. He always showed up to teach his class wearing a black felt fedora or a straw fedora, depending on the weather.

vmtrevino--first, welcome to the lounge, I've been admiring your hats. That looks like a nice Milan Stratoliner. Back yard grilling in Houston, it doesn't get any better. Most of my family lives there and I try to get there once or twice a year.

Thanks g.durand. it's actually a Dobbs Rosebud. I live in La Porte, TX just outside of Houston.

Whippet, Borsalino, Dobbs, Stratoliner, TJ's TAR (is it an OR?), yes, it's been a good hat day.

Got quite warm - mid 80's - here this afternoon, so I wore my Disney milan (amazing soft feel to this one) to run a few errands

Today I started with one of my 20XB Resistol Black Gold

By lunch I changed to this 4XB Stetson that I got from Randall (Randooch) that I nicknamed it "Randall".

javadave, David, thanks guys. I appreciate the comments from yesterday.

TJ's TAR (is it an OR?), ]

David, It's actually a Bradford OR clone, and I definitely like your Disney Milan. Nice straw!

g.durand, love your thin ribbon Borso. Wish I could myself find a thin ribbon in a different color other than Silverbelly.

javadave, what's the crown height and brim width on your straw Stratoliner? I've been looking at those.

Joao, that's an interesting looking Stetson. Too much brim though. Want me to trim it a little for you? ;)

Happy Palm Sunday and beginning of Passover season everyone. Everyone's been looking right snappy this weekend.

Off to services in my Panama Bob's straw fedora.
