Great photos everyone!
David that dark moss is sublime.
Alan, I love that black and white photo with the Barbisio.
More commentary later but for now, heading out in my Borsalino Trionfo.

About two weeks into autumn, my VS Oxblood with a too big shirt to cover the sling in proper fall colors...

Superb hats AND photos lately, Mr. Bowlerman. That Trionfo is FABULOUS-O.

Thank you Alan and Perry!

As to what caused a need for a sling, well, you should see what happened to the other guy (in the fight...);)
Actually a surgeon got me, finally repairing a worn shoulder resulting from a non-too-pampered life.

My wife doesn't completely agree. She thinks it's all about karma.

TJones - I like the squatter as is, but a contrasting ribbon will look good.

Lovely Borso Jeff.

Great colours in nature, in the shirt and particularly the hat, Charlie. Speedy recovery!

Warm and sunny today, but just about cool enough for a wool cap - Barbour:

Alan, Jeff, Charlie (good to see you out and about) Richard, AnA, JT - great hats (&caps) all around.

And thanks to everyone who commented on my VS Weston from waaay back early this morning. I'd love to get hold of an original Stetson Weston, but I don't think that's happening somehow. Here's the real one, behind the Bluegrass Whippet:

JTopenroad: Another nice light hat with a thin ribbon, very cool.

Today it got a bit cold in the morning so I decide to wear my long-hair hat by a Jeff the Hatter... Sadly it got hat later on the day so I took it off :(

Also gave my brown Knox another bash. I was looking at it again and I didn't like how much the crown tapered.

Richard, the main difference is the Whippet hat a bound edge to the brim and the Weston a Mode edge - one of Stetsons felted edge variants.

Stetson's marketing people obviously thought that made it worth the extra $15. I've yet to see an actual hat to see if there is anything else different.

Tom - great looking Mallory.

Black Cherry Penman for me - starting to feel like Autumn now.

Richard - dapper as always with the cap!

A 'n A - did you do the reflange work yourself? I like the brim - I just don't have any fedoras that would look quite like that without some major work.

JT - I have an OR much like yours, but with a completely different crease. I've tried to get creases like yours on some of my hats, and they just don't come out right. How did you do it?

Tom - Love the Mallory. I'm wearing mine today.

David - I have a BC on order with Art. Are they the same felts? Rabbit's looks more black than cherry - where yours looks more cherry than black. I like both. Of course, it could just be the lighting that makes the difference.

Wearing one of my favorites - a Mallory that arrived with its purchase receipt dated 1957. I'm channeling my inner Bernard (my maternal grandfather who nearly always wore bow ties).
