Richard - thanks, the brim is about 3 3/4 inches. Wider than any of my other hats.

TJ - not my usual style, but a good hat for days like today.

In the mid-seventies, so the dress weight dove VS worked well.

Rainy Saturday in Cleveland

The weather is changing, and it should cool down some after the rain.

Today I'm wearing my Fed IV Deluxe in Heritage Fawn.

With Navajo ghost beads and Zuni (Effie Calavaza) snake ring

Al, your photos always make me drool, but it has been several weeks since they made me hungry! I could just reach through the touch screen and grab that tofu out of your chopsticks! Nice to see the architecture as well.

Texas hatters quirky thing this morning.

Thanks, Jeff! I have several hundred food only photos on my SD cards that I have yet to sort through. Stay tuned. That is one COOL looking hat you sported yesterday.

AL, I saw an account once on the making of stinky tofu. It was enough of a taste for me. :eeek: Glad to see your brim curl was not affected by the radiation. :) Do you ever make it to the mainland in your travels?

The much(unfairly) maligned stinky tofu is certainly an acquired taste...and smell. Lovers of stinky tofu savor the exquisite, if somewhat strong aroma, and the very complex and not at all "stinky" taste.

We made a side trip from Taiwan to Macau and Hong Kong last Summer, but are spending our entire time this trip on the island of Formosa. We love Taiwan deeply, and are planning an ongoing, in-depth exploration of the island as well as its Pescadores Archipelagos over the next few years. We will also likely make a separate trip to Shanghai, Beijing, and Xian sometime next year.

Very unique Knox which you pull off with aplomb.

Delectans: As always, fun to watch your journeys. I'll have to find a place that sells stinky tofu and give it a try some time, if only to watch my kids reaction to it!

Thank you, Sam. The closest place for you to try stinky tofu would be at the eatery within the Chinese supermarket in Edison, NJ, or a few restaurants in Flushing, NY. Not quite as good as the great stinky tofu of Taiwan, but well worth seeking out nonetheless...but then again I am biased. lol

Looks great gd

Richard, thank you.

Andy, the Fed IV looks great.

Al, breathtaking settings again for the Optimo. The photos of Taiwan only partially explain why you like the place so much, I'm sure.

I was able to wear the Lee Corral this morning for awhile, but I may need a straw in a couple of hours.

Andy - the Fed looks great

Al - Wonderful photos, wonderful hats as usual, and the stinky tofu sounds like something I must try.

g.d. - I like that Lee - great colour for the Summer.

Manfred - Enjoy your vacation (and yes we do expect photos!).

---------------------

After a hot week at work the weekend arrived with cool weather, grey skies and drizzle...

I've had a few hats on my head today - bashing and shaping the new Campdraft, and trying on a couple of ebay arrivals, but most of the day it's been a Christy's Melton Wool cap:

G. Durand, that Lee is spectacular!

Al, beautiful shots of the Optimo optimo, and I adore the detail with which the ribbon shows in the last photo.

ManofKent, geat cap, man!

Orangegrad, you've been sporting some seriously awesome Feds lately-- you may have found your perfect hat-- you look so comfortable/natural/happy in them!

I went with a Lee today as well (thanks for the inspiration!). Silver label homburg in a dusty sage color. Wore it out all day long at the Sioux Falls Jazzfest, where I got to meet up with a buddy of mine from high school (in CA) who was playing on the main stage. Hadn't seen him since high school.
Also saw a bunch of hats there-- mostly cheap paper straws and tilleys, but a few nice cowboy hats and vintage fedoras as well. I tried to snap a few shots with my camera, and will post them if they're decent.

Good evening Fedora Lounge folks.

This will be my first post since a vehicle accident put me on a health vacation from the forum. I am finally back on my own feet. No chair, no crutches and just today hung up my cane! Today, I went for a short walk around the property and was whooped. I sat on a chair down by the beach and luxuriously enjoyed the low 70'F weather of the morning. It was a real luxury to wear a VS Silvermist Weston inspired fedora.

This afternoon, I completed some rehab and came down to enjoy the lake vista and took another pic of my afternoon fedora. A VS silverbelly Wanderer this time.

Glancing at todays posts reminds me that I will have to check the past months or more contributions as their are so many terrific posts. You folks continue to honor hats with your entertaining posts.

Best wishes, Eric -
